The moment Tong Yan got the photo, he posted it on social media that was limited to only his circle of friends: [Happy New Year (picture)]
Comments came quickly.
Wei Lan: [Such a gentle-looking and delicate brother Yan and such a beautiful Master Duo. Her short hair is looking good.]
Su Wei: [You spent New Year’s together?]
Yin Hua: [Both of my girls look so cute.]

Xu Xinduo only saved the picture as she soon went out to continue creating her own songs.
Tong Yan sat on the sides to help Xu Xinduo with her homework. He listened to her play but soon, he walked over and stood behind Xu Xinduo. Then, he stretched out his hand to play the piano, “It can be changed to this; otherwise, it’d be a bit too predictable.”
Tong Yan started playing as his slender fingers jumped and danced in front of Xu Xinduo, playing very nicely. The girl, however, was shrouded in Tong Yan’s arms. His voice echoed right above her head as his breath even blew her hair occasionally when he spoke.
“It’s pretty good,” Xu Xinduo said after Tong Yan suggested.
“Try it,” Tong Yan gestured after stepping back.
Xu Xinduo started to play again but Tong Yan froze as he heard the tune, “You played the wrong notes.”
“Oh, I couldn’t remember,” She actually did remember, but her mind drifted as she was playing.
Tong Yan took the music score and wrote on it as their handwriting styles were practically the same. Even if they both wrote on a piece of paper, they couldn’t tell the difference and the same was true for the music scores they wrote.
Xu Xinduo looked at the score and played out the parts she created coherently.
Tong Yan listened to the sound for a while and nodded, “It feels okay; it’s quite cheerful.”
Tong Yan immediately became interested and said, “Alright, little sun, you don’t have to be a model anymore in the future as you can consider being a composer. I suddenly realised that you’re kind of talented.”
“Well, that would be really bad. If I can’t compose though, I can be a bodyguard.”
“If I hire you, you will be my bodyguard and I will even pay you regular wages.”
“Be your bodyguard? What do you need me to protect you from?”
“To be honest, I’m afraid of the dark and I’m especially afraid whenI’m alone in bed. Hence, someone must protect me when I sleep.”
After hearing Tong Yan’s words, Xu Xinduo glared at him directly, but her eyes were soft and they were without a trace of lethality.
Tong Yan seemed to be getting even more daring recently, but she was used to his antics as well.
She threatened fiercely, “I think after I start to protect you, you would be afraid to even sleep in the future!”
“So you are that powerful? Then there was no use of me being worried before…”
“What were you worried about?”
“I’m worried that after you and I get together, you’d be afraid of the sight of the bed.”
“…”
Xu Xinduo gave Tong Yan a blank look and simply ignored him, leaving him alone as she continued to play the piano and study the pieces.
The piano was especially capable of reflecting a person’s emotions as sound was the carrier of all emotions. A person’s enthusiasm, happiness, anger and passion could all be reflected. Anyone who understood the instrument could hear the emotions of the players.
Tong Yan listened to Xu Xinduo playing the piano again, but this time, the emotions behind it were so powerful that he took three steps back out of fear and swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
After thinking about it, he decided that he valued his life. He looked for some snacks in the living room and proceeded to peel a piece of candy to feed it into Xu Xinduo’s mouth.
After eating for a while, Xu Xinduo muttered, “I don’t like this flavour; I like strawberry.”
