Xu Xinduo let go of Tong Yan. He instantly felt like he was dropped into a state of emptiness, making him want to take Xu Xinduo back into his arms again. As a result, she asked with concern, “Are you okay? You were even coughing just now.”
“Oh…it’s okay, I just feel like my mouth has dried up all of a sudden.”
Xu Xinduo stood up, walked towards the water dispenser and said at the same time, “Maybe it’s because of the geothermal heat; I’ll pour you a glass of water.”
Tong Yan looked at Xu Xinduo’s back in the dark. The black nightdress made her fair arms and back even more distinct, making him cough a lot more.
Xu Xinduo came back and handed him the water as she reached out her hand and touched his forehead. Then, she touched his neck again to see if he had a cold.
There wasn’t a fever.
Tong Yan pretended to be calm as he drank the glass of water, contemplating his thoughts. Why the heck did I agree to the one year agreement when I could have just ended it there and then?
This… How can I stand this for a year?

Tong Yan crawled out of the quilt as he was listening to the sound of the piano outside the door of the room. He couldn’t help but let out a pained groan.
Thinking about Xu Xinduo’s graceful appearance in the dark last night, he was so conflicted that he didn’t sleep well the entire night. He tossed and turned in bed until 4 o’clock in the morning before falling into a pit of restless sleep.
As a result, Xu Xinduo started to play some of her original songs at 8 in the morning. Although the tunes she played were rather intermittent, Tong Yan felt that it was a form of torture when he listened to it.
He turned over under the quilt and wanted to sleep for a while, but after closing his eyes for a moment, Xu Xinduo stopped playing.
He laid in bed and began to listen carefully, wondering what Xu Xinduo was doing. However, the house was so big that he couldn’t hear any sound for a long time.
Unable to contain his curiosity, he sat up and ruffled his hair before he got out of bed to wash up.
After washing up, he reached out to get his black T-shirt. But after thinking about it, he felt that it wouldn’t work. Xu Xinduo didn’t like him wearing black all the time. Now that he was ‘chasing’ after her, he had to use some ‘colour’ to lure her.
What does Xu Xinduo like? Does she just like to see me dressed in a bunch of colourful and fancy clothes?
He walked to the closet, opening the door to choose some clothes. Unsurprisingly, he was only greeted with the sight of black T-shirts, black sweaters and black coats, so he only closed the door silently.
He walked out of the door in his pyjamas and looked in the direction of the living room. Seeing no one, he reached out and knocked on the door of Xu Xinduo’s room.
No one answered from the room, so he pushed the door and walked in. From there, he opened Xu Xinduo’s wardrobe to find some clothes to wear.
They have exchanged bodies for many years and they have long gotten used to going to each other’s rooms, so they were very calm when touching each other’s things.
These things belonged to both of them.
Even though Xu Xinduo was a girl, the clothes she bought were very plain and neutral.
Tong Yan could actually wear some of her looser clothes. After the boyfriend-style clothing became popular, it became an advantage for boys who would randomly pick their outfits.
In the end, he chose a white shirt as a base and put on a pink round-neck sweater.
