For a moment, he pictured his neck as nothing more than a piece of thin cucumber that could snap with a slight twist of Yao Tang’s hands.
Yu Chen shuddered in fear.
If he could, he would have howled his grievances to the sky, but he didn’t dare to make a sound.
“Okay, fine, fine. I’ll listen to what you say, but you can never make me go out naked, all right? I don’t have any other clothes with me.”
Yu Chen batted his eyelashes in a bid to look pitiful.
Surely, Yao Tangwouldn’t be so cruel, right?
Besides, she was a young girl herself. No modest teenager would want to see a naked man… Right?
No matter how strong and powerful she was, she still needed to maintain some level of social propriety.
In any case, after all was said and done, Yao Tangshouldn’t have any more ideas about the space.
“I see,” she muttered.
Her expression was hidden behind the mask.
Even so, Yu Chencould hear her steady breathing, so she was probably calm about the whole thing now.
And yet, for some reason, he felt his heart tighten. The girl was so close to him, and her tranquility only served to remind him of the calm before the storm. His guts were telling him that danger was approaching.
“What are you planning?” Yu Chenasked carefully. If nothing else, at leastYao Tangdidn’t appear as though she was about to kill him.
“Take it off,” she said in a light tone.
Yu Chen was momentarily dumbfounded, but he quickly clung to his clothes as fear clouded his eyes.
“No way, Sister! You can’t have possibly taken a fancy to me! I know I’m charming and handsome, and I always suspected that the girls in our family have been crushing on me secretly, but I can’t indulge you with this!”
The words tumbled out of his mouth in rapid succession. Despite being a self-proclaimed playboy, Yu Chenwas trembling.
“Turn around, take off your clothes, and put them on the ground,” Yao Tangordered monotonously, not even bothering to acknowledge what he had said.
She let him go, then proceeded to wipe her hand with a tissue as if she had just touched something utterly disgusting.
Yu Chen took a deep breath the second he was released. Now that things had come to this, he didn’t have the courage to disobey. He stole a sideways glance atYao Tangbefore slowly taking off his clothes.
A few seconds later, he threw them all in a heap on the ground.
Yao Tang stepped back for half a meter or so. Then, she took out a small metal ball from her pocket and threw it in the air.
It spun in midair, its center slowly glowing in a faint, silver light.
It hovered over Yu Chen’s clothes and finally indicated the pocket that contained the space.
Three seconds later, the ball darted back into the air and returned to Yao Tang’s hand, still glowing.
“Put your clothes back on,” she drawled as she put the ball away again.
Yu Chen’s lips curled up, both in relief and satisfaction.
He had said it before—the space couldn’t change ownership so easily. More importantly, he had used a special technique to lock it in his clothes, which meant that the garments themselves were precious.
Yao Tang knew this, too, or she wouldn’t have ordered him to wear them again.
“Don’t take it to heart, Sister. You might not be able to use this space, but I promise to get you a new one in the future. Don’t worry, I, Yu Chen, will keep my word at all costs!”

He patted his chest and felt pleased with himself.
Since Yao Tangstill had a use for him, his safety was as good as guaranteed.
Yao Tang said nothing. WhenYu Chenwhirled around to look at her, he was taken aback by the expression on her face.
He thought that she would be dejected, envious, even, but that wasn’t the case at all. Instead, she was looking at him like he was some delusional fool.
Was he mistaken about something?
“The space has already been removed from your person,” Yao Tang pointed out nonchalantly.
Yu Chen scampered over and picked up his clothes, his face twisted into a complicated expression. “Impossible! This space uses the highest defense function and has a firm lock-in feature. If it’s forcefully removed, it will be automatically destroyed! It can no longer be used!”
He simply refused to believe Yao Tang.
Some of his family members had tried removing it before, to no avail. They had employed various methods, but no one was able to separate the space once it was locked on the clothes.
But here Yao Tangwas, claiming that she had successfully removed it. She must be joking.
Yu Chen put on his clothes as fast as he could and instantly reached out to check.
He froze in shock.
The space was no longer where it should have been. He rummaged around in another desperate attempt to find it, but there was nothing in his pocket. It was empty.
