Qi Yusen leaned down.
“Don’t!” Qiao Qing grabbed his wrist and stopped him from sitting down.
She took over the shovel in his hand, “You don’t understand the roots of this herb. It would be bad if you harm it while digging.”
Plus, to ask someone with OCD to dig up this plant from a pile of mud would make a scene.
Of course, she didn’t say that out loud.
Since Qiao Qing had spoken, Qi Yusen had to give up on his intention to help. Instead, he observed her.
Just as she was about to dig, he shouted, “You forgot to put on gloves.”
Qiao Qing didn’t stop her movements, “Gloves just get in my way.”
By then, she had already dug up the plant and had placed it in the basket the subordinate was carrying.
Afterward, the group continued to walk.
After Qiao Qing collected all the herbs she was looking for, she asked to walk back the way they came from, feeling that she didn’t have the time to rest and drink water.
As the duo reached their car, two women went up to them.
When they saw Qiao Qing, Lu Zhixun stopped her steps.
She saw the news about the fragrance competition. As the winner of the competition, Qiao Qing’s photo was public information. Therefore, she recognized Qiao Qing’s face.
Beside her, Xia Xin was head over heels over Qi Yusen.
She covered her face, “Oh my god, who is that man? He’s so handsome! He’s better looking than young master Gong and young master Leng!”
Lu Zhixun looked over at Qi Yusen and was also starstruck.
She saw that he wore all white and followed Qiao Qing. This made her remember some of the rumors from before.
She thought, this must be the God from the Capital Country, the brother of Qiao Qing – Qi Yusen.
Lu Zhixun suddenly remembered as to why she was in country L and went up to them. “Ms. Qiao, can I talk to you in private?”
Qiao Qing opened the car door and at the sound of her name, she turned to find a strange face looking at her.
This time, she had no time to waste, “If it’s not important, don’t bother me. I’m in a rush.”
Then, she got into the car.
Lu Zhixun was angered by Qiao Qing’s attitude but she didn’t show it.
She put her hand on the car door, “Ms. Qiao, I am Lu Zhixun. I’m here to discuss the matter of the construction project.”
As of now, she hasn’t mentioned she wanted an assistant. She simply mentioned this was a project she wanted to cooperate on.
But, she planned on lying later. After all, with her reputation in the architecture industry, everyone would believe her when she said Qiao Qing was her assistant.
At the mention of her own name, Qi Yusen’s face fell.
He ordered, “Close the door and drive!”
The subordinate heard the order and pushed away Lu Zhixun’s hand and slammed the door shut.
If it weren’t for Lu Zhixun’s quick reaction, her fingers would’ve been broken by the door.
She patted her chest to calm herself down. However, the anger she felt towards this pair of siblings grew.
Just then, the car u-turned sharply and aimed at her butt.
Flustered, Lu Zhixun retreated in a hurry and tripped. After a loud “ah!” She fell into the mud.
“Zhixun!” Xia Xin quickly came to help.
Lu Zhixun found her way with Xia Xin’s help. Her white coat was now covered in mud.
She originally wore a skirt, so her legs were bare. She was already cold and now that they have been dampened by the melted snow and mud, she felt cold and ugly.
“Zhixun, let’s go change,” Xia Xin suggested.
