Chi Shuyan had thought before that Qi Zhenbai might be in a bad mood because of Brother Feng, but now, she felt more and more that it had to do with her.
She didn’t know how she had offended this man, and was curious and helpless when she thought about how he was ignoring her.
After playing chess with Grandpa Qi, the man sat next to her during dinner, but he couldn’t hide his indifference.
This man usually picked up food for her, but tonight, he ate his own food from beginning to end and treated her like she was invisible. Chi Shuyan knew that this man wasn’t petty and easily angered. Then, how on earth had she offended him?
She couldn’t help but think of how she couldn’t remember what happened after she got drunk last night. Her head throbbed. Could it be that after she got drunk, this man had caught her fooling around with Brother Feng?
Chi Shuyan’s first thought was to reject this absurd idea. She didn’t have any untoward feelings for Brother Feng – the only thing she hoped for was that he would break away from the misery which Qin Qing brought him as soon as possible and find a reliable partner!
But except for that, Chi Shuyan couldn’t figure out how she had provoked Qi Zhenbai last night. However absurd this thought was, it was the only one which made sense. However, she still couldn’t accept the fact that she had been “caught cheating” with Brother Feng after getting drunk.
She even wondered if she really did have feelings for Brother Feng. Could it be that she herself couldn’t tell when she was clear-headed, and it was only revealed when she was drunk?
Even as Chi Shuyan found the thought ridiculous, she tried to imagine the possibility of “hooking up” with Brother Feng. She immediately got goosebumps all over her body at this terrifying thought.
Logically speaking, even if she really was fickle, she would never hook up with this man’s best and closest friend, Brother Feng.

It just so happened that she had just picked out a piece of dry chili from her bowl, and had initially planned to put it on the table.
The man next to her suddenly turned around and glanced at her with his handsome, expressionless face. Maybe it was because she was feeling guilty, but her mind went blank and she suddenly stuffed the dry chili into her mouth without thinking.
When she bit into the incomparably spicy chili, she suddenly choked before she could let out a breath. A burning, suffocating feeling immediately spread from her throat to her stomach. She coughed so hard that tears poured out.

At that moment, the conversation at the table was interrupted by Chi Shuyan’s earth-shattering coughs. Everyone jumped in fright and looked up, only to see Zhenbai feeding Shuyan soup from his bowl. He habitually blew on it before he fed her the soup. He reached out to pat her back solemnly.
Chi Shuyan really was choking on the spiciness of the chili at that moment. Not only did her stomach hurt and her throat ache, her eyes also turned red. She wasn’t someone who couldn’t eat spicy food, but that dry chili just now was incomparably spicy. For a moment, Chi Shuyan couldn’t open her eyes, and she bent down to bury herself in the man’s lap as she coughed.
She was afraid of affecting everyone else’s appetite, so when she coughed again, she simply buried her face in the man’s lap.
Qi Zhenbai’s face was already cold. Seeing the woman next to him cough with her face pressed into his lap, the vein on his forehead throbbed and his expression changed drastically.
He immediately changed positions and sat her on his lap so that her face was pressed to his chest as she coughed. He raised his eyes, frowned and said coldly to Grandpa Qi and Father Qi, “Grandpa, Dad, Mom, you guys eat first. I’ll take her to the washroom!”
