Wouldn’t it take at least a few days in advance to schedule a meeting with an elder of the Goodman family?
It was impossible for someone to meet them whenever they wanted to.
And even if George Goodman was willing to meet them, a meeting this afternoon was highly unlikely.

He didn’t want his sister-in-law’s ego and self-esteem to be hurt.
Yu Xi also attempted to convince Jian Yiling: “God Ling, wouldn’t a meeting this afternoon be a bit too sudden? Shouldn’t we ask them in advance?”
After all, even if it was his father, generally, when people wanted to meet him, they would at least give a phone call in advance. They would not just go there immediately.
“Are you guys busy this afternoon?” Jian Yiling asked.
“Well… We don’t have anything on… But I don’t think that’s the problem here…” Yu Xi said cautiously.
Han Mengyu continued to say: “Why don’t we pick another day?”
He couldn’t do anything to prepare for the situation if the meeting was today.
“No need. We can go as long as you guys are free,” Jian Yiling replied.
“Then… Master Sheng, what do you think about this?” Han Mengyu asked Zhai Yunsheng. Once again, he directed such a question to Master Sheng.
“Alright, let’s get ready to go now,” Zhai Yunsheng replied.

Then, Zhai Yunsheng said to Jian Yiling: “Wait for us in the lounge room.”

“We need to shower and change clothes.”
And there was also another one in the swimming pool.

An hour later, the five of them arrived at the Goodman Residence located on the outskirts of Beijing.
The residence was a classical European-style building.
The courtyard of the residence appeared serene yet solemn-looking. The car they arrived in was parked outside the black iron gate of the residence.
Inside the car, Han Mengyu was in an apprehensive mood.
Han Mengyu kept giving Yu Xi looks: What do we do? Our sister-in-law directly brought us over here!
Yu Xi returned a look to Han Mengyu: How would I know? Master Sheng didn’t even attempt to convince her. What else can we do?
Jian Yiling got out of the car and walked over towards the doorbell.
It appeared as though she was going to ring the doorbell.
However, typically, shouldn’t you have a meeting appointment before you come to meet a big shot like this?!
Their sister-in-law was way too direct!
Would the big shot even speak to her?
And if she got rejected by the servants answering the bell, wouldn’t she be incredibly embarrassed?
What if she cried?
The rest of them looked at Jian Yiling’s soft and fair face. They could not bear to see her sad and upset.

After the doorbell rang twice, a servant inside the house answered.

The servant paused for a moment and stared at Jian Yiling through the screen. After a moment, they answered: “Mr. Goodman is outside.”
Upon hearing this reply, Han Mengyu quickly said to Jian Yiling: “See, he actually went out. Let’s just come back next time!”
