“I know that Yiling is rather impulsive at times. In fact, I’m willing to call her stubborn as well. However, she still knows what’s right from wrong. Furthermore, she definitely has no desire to harm another person. How can you guys condemn her like that? Even if Yunnao said it… Even if Yunnao is less likely to lie in such a situation…”
Jian Yunmo couldn’t stop himself from defending Jian Yiling.
“You’re right,” Jian Yuncheng admitted. He knew that they had made a mistake. “In fact, the person who has the most fault in this matter is me. Please don’t be angry with our mother and father. Especially our mother. After Yunnao got injured, her life has become a mess.”
“There’s no use in blaming anyone,” Jian Yunmo replied in a low voice that was filled with grief. “You guys should have told me earlier.”
Jian Yuncheng was silent for a moment.
At first, he didn’t know how things would turn out. As a result, having another person in their family come back wasn’t necessarily a good thing.
However, if he had known that things would have turned out like this, he would have definitely asked Jian Yunmo to return.
The two brothers were silent for a while longer.
Then, Jian Yunmo said, “Don’t let me see Yunnao anytime soon.”
“I understood,” Jian Yuncheng replied. Then he said, “You should go over to the Old Jian Residence and stay with Yiling for the time being.”
Jian Yunmo didn’t reply. However, Jian Yuncheng knew that he had agreed to his suggestion.

When Jian Yiling returned home, she found a young man in a light-colored checkered coat seated in the living room.
The young man appeared gentle and fair-skinned. He was quite handsome and seemed quite scholarly.
The young man was chatting with Grandpa Jian. It appeared as though the two of them were having a good conversation.
Jian Yiling was just about to leave when Grandpa Jian called out to her:
“Yiling, your second brother is back. Why don’t you greet him?”
After hearing the words ‘second brother’, Jian Yiling immediately figured out the man’s identity. This was her second brother who was meant to be studying abroad.
However, Jian Yiling hadn’t expected his arrival. In fact, in the original novel, he wasn’t supposed to be back until next year.
Thus, something must have affected the plot of the original novel. This ended up causing Jian Yunmo to return home ahead of time and thereby caused him to appear in front of Jian Yiling.
Jian Yiling looked back at Jian Yunmo. Their eyes met.
Jian Yiling’s three brothers were all incredibly good-looking. However, their styles and the auras that they gave off were completely different.
Jian Yuncheng was rather cold and stern whilst Jian Yunmo was quite gentle and warm. He gave off the impression that he was the warm spring breeze.
After only a few seconds of staring at each other, Jian Yiling and Jian Yunmo averted their eyes in unison.
Their reactions were surprisingly consistent.
However, this reaction was rather strange in the eyes of Grandpa Jian.
Everyone in the family knew that Jian Yiling was closest to Jian Yunmo. They had the closest sibling relationship.
Could this reaction be because the two siblings hadn’t seen each other for a long time? Was that the reason?
Jian Yunmo’s room had been arranged to the left of Jian Yiling’s room.
Jian Yumin’s room was on the right of Jian Yiling’s room. His room was there despite the fact that he didn’t come home often.
After Jian Yunmo moved in, the expected closeness and bonding between Jian Yiling and Jian Yunmo did not happen. In fact, Jian Yiling and Jian Yunmo barely talked to one another.
The dinner that night was eaten in silence.
Jian Yiling lowered her head and ate in silence.
Jian Yunmo looked up at Jian Yiling from time to time. However, he did not speak either.
Later, when they met briefly on the stairs, they only paused for a moment before both of them walked away again in silence.
Upon seeing this strange phenomenon, Grandpa Jian and Grandma Jian couldn’t help but wonder about it.
Later at night, Grandma Jian asked Grandpa Jian:
“Hey old man, what’s going on here? I know that Yiling never got along with Yumin, however, hasn’t she always been on good terms with Yunmo?”
