It was after two weeks of the wedding that Lu Qiang came to the work except for the day when he visited Jiang residence before his in-laws flying back to the USA.
When Lu Qiang went to the office, a huge pile of work and new projects were waiting for him thought he was taking follow-ups from the home. The files were stacked and waiting for him to go through it and sign it, even though so many times Xiao Min had to visit him home and take files to get it done.
The half-day passed by while attending the meetings and going through the details of new projects. The employees, who were enjoying the absence of their boss as if it was the vacation period, were busy working their butts off as if there was a sudden emergency in the whole building.
Even at lunchtime Lu Qiang was busy. Xiao Min was giving a company to his boss to starve themselves while working and he was used to it. Once his boss started working like a beast, there was no word like hunger or thirst existed in their dictionaries and with so much work in front, it was the obvious thing to happen.
Xiao Min was sitting on the couch exactly opposite to where his boss was sitting in one stylish and comfortable chair, which was a single-seater pair of the couch, the documents spread on the centre table. It was usual scenario in Lu Qiang’s office when both of them worked like this in an emergency situation.
“Boss, Ming industries aiming to get this project and it is their first step to challenge us,” Xiao Min said while working on the documents.
“It would be interesting to fight,” Lu Qiang replied being busy with his work.
“As they are new in this sector, it won’t be easy for them.”
“There is nothing called new or old, Xiao Min. Ming industries is even older than the Lu Corporations and they are all the powerful and skilled people in the business world. If not for the agreement between elders, they would have been ruling in the sectors where we are doing good and to forget that they are already ruling the sectors they are in.”
“Still, Lu corporation holds the higher position than them after boss took it in his hands,” Xiao Min said feeling proud of his boss who was exceptionally talented but always behaved down to earth when it came to admitting it.
“I did my best. Now it’s time for Ming Rusheng to do his best. I hope to see him making elder Ming proud of him.”
“Boss, you don’t take them as competitors as they are the relatives now.”
“Who said I don’t think of them as competitors but it doesn’t mean I should not respect the competitor when he is the capable one,” Lu Qiang replied still busy with his work.
Xiao Min agreed to his boss and said, “We have fifteen days to apply for this project.”
“More than enough!” Lu Qiang said.
“Along with Ming industries, all the powerful ones are aiming for it.”
Hmm!” Lu Qiang was going through the details of the project carefully, something caught his attention.
“I have already arranged the meeting at three O’clock with the head of finance and management departments.”
“Hmm!”
Lu Qiang was busy with his work, just then he got a call. Seeing the number flashing on the phone, a mild smile painted on his lips.
“What are you doing?” The person on the other side of the line asked.
“I was waiting for my wife to miss me and call me,” Lu Qiang replied.
Xiao Min didn’t know how to react seeing his boss’s lovey-dovey act. The moment before he was serious and focused on his work as if nothing existed in this world but the work and now, he was smiling and flirting with his wife without giving a thought that one single soul was sitting there.
“Have you had lunch?” Jiang Yuyan asked.
Lu Qiang looked at the table clock on his table and realized, it was past his usual lunchtime. “Not yet.”
Hearing it, Jiang Yuyan frowned. “Why?”
“I was busy with work so it skipped from the mind,” he replied.
“Are you like this always?” she asked.
“Not always but when I have something important to finish.”
“Hmm! From now on, I will ask Xiao Min to get you lunch every time when he will go for his meal, even though you are busy.”
Hearing it, Lu Qiang looked at Xiao Min and realized he missed his lunch too. “Cough!”
“What happened?”
“Nothing. I just realized, Xiao Min missed his lunch too.” Xiao Min’s ears raised at the mentioning of his name.
Giving out a deep sigh, Jiang Yuyna said, “Now I know. Brother Yang didn’t called him your wife for nothing. He is dedicated to you like the one.”
Lu Qiang laughed and asked, “Are you jealous?”
“No! I am angry. He should look after your meal too and not just the work.”
“Should I tell Xiao Min that my wife is angry with him as he failed to take care of my meal?”
“Cough!” Xiao Min looked at his boss.
Jiang Yuyan continued her nagging. “You should tell him and if he fails to do it the next time, I will come there personally to make sure you eat.”
Lu Qiang agreed. “Okay!”
“Not okay, get the food for you and then you can work.” Jiang Yuyan insisted and Lu Qiang looked at Xiao Min. Being Lu Qiang’s dedicated wife for all these years, Xiao Min understood what his boss meant and stood up from the couch and thought to pile of the documents before going out to get the food.
“After you called, I just realized I am starving now. Why don’t you come here so that I can get a tasty meal?” Lu Qiang said smiling brightly, enjoying teasing his wife.
The flirty lines from his boss and his changed persona were giving Xiao Min shock. ‘Only Mrs. Lu Can make my boss like this’ He thought to himself.
