Everyone looked at the Jiang siblings to know what happened for Jiang Yang to say such worried words. But there is that certain young man who was calm as if nothing happened and simply sat with no such expression on his face.
”W-What, brother?” Jiang Yuyan asked and she touched her neck.
Jiang Yang moved the hair strand away from her neck and looked at it, “This….” he realized something but before that, he could say more, Jiang Yuyan also realized what her brother was exactly talking about.
Her eyes were left wide open with the realization as she covered that part of her neck with her palm immediately. ‘It’s what Lu Lijun did at that time…How did I forget about it and come downstairs in front of others and I don’t even know how it looks. Is it a faint mark or just an obvious one?… Ahh…so embarrassing…’
”M-Must is a mosquito or bug bite as I was standing out for a long time on the balcony. I must have scratched it badly,” she said awkwardly as there was no other way to explain and keeping quiet would have killed her with embarrassment.
Others could only smile inwardly at her silly attempt at explaining.
Jiang Yang looked at Lu Lijun with his eyes narrowed at him, “Seems like the mosquito was very big.”
Lu Lijun didn’t react at all.
”Seems like it had teeth as well,” Lu Feng commented as he tried to hide his smile and act serious.
”Must be so energetic and daring to bite like this,” Noah commented as well, as he gave a meaningful smile to his friend to which Lu Lijun didn’t react but his eyes talked to Noah as if he was taking a pride in doing so. ‘Always a sly fox,’ Noah thought as he knew why Lu Lijun had done it.
”We should ask for pest control for the entire area,” Xiao Min said as he too suppressed a smile. Seeing his boss flustered like this was not something he would get to see often. He didn’t wish to miss this chance to join others in teasing her.
”I think I should reward the mosquito who dared bite Yuyan.”
Everyone looked at the source of the sweet female voice. Lu Lian and Ming Rusheng were standing there, who heard the entire conversation.
”Shouldn’t we punish the one who dared hurt my cousin?” Ming Rusheng asked as he looked at Lu Lian with a teasing smile.
”I agree with rewarding the one who dared bite the almighty President Lu. It’s not just anyone who can do it,” An Tian came while holding the two wine bottles in his hands. He looked at Lu Lian, “I wonder how we should reward.”
”I am sure we will decide on something for sure,” Lu Lian replied and looked at her brother smiling ear to ear who just smiled lightly at her. ‘This guy looks so happy,’ Lu Lian thought, ‘And I am happy for him as well. My sweet little brother.’
Hearing everyone, Jiang Yuyan felt like hiding herself somewhere. It was obvious that everyone understood and she felt silly at her own explanation about mosquito bite. What was she even thinking to say it? Now that mosquito and the bite were like the talk of the town? She almost thought to jump into that river and hide in its deepest part.
She glanced at Lu Lijun who said nothing at all and acted as if it didn’t concern him but his eyes, which hid the mischief behind them, she could see clearly.
’You did it intentionally isn’t it?’ she asked in her mind but Lu Lijun could guess what she was thinking and nodded lightly to say ‘yes’ to her unspoken question.
She frowned inwardly while the newcomers sat on the chairs as Jerome arranged it for them. Jerome was happy seeing such a playful atmosphere there and smiled at Martha who had brought the set of cups and kettle filled with freshly brewed tea along with snacks filled in bowls.
An Tian put the wine bottles on the table and said as he looked at Jiang Yang, “This is what you asked for.”
Jiang Yang looked at those rarely available and expensive wine bottles and said, “You are a darling, An Tian.”
”Uhu? Keep that praising for your actual darling. I don’t want to be a third wheel between the two,” An Tian said.
Jiang Yang sighed, “I am being the third wheel between the certain two now.”
”Yeah, I keep forgetting because CEO Lu Feng loves to keep things hidden behind the curtains,” An Tian commented.
Lu Feng glared at the two of his friends and asked An Tian, “Do you want me to expose your things that lay behind the curtain, An Tian?”
”What things about Brother Tian?”
Someone asked who just arrived. It was Jake who came there with a carton of alcohol. He put it on the table and looked at his brother questioningly to which An Tian only smiled lightly.
”My life is boring, little brother. Do not bother with it,” he said like a decree of a royal.
”And you keep exposing my life,” Jake frowned and sat in the chair next to him.
”There is nothing for me to expose as everything is just obvious from your face and actions. You talk to me but your mind and eyes are always fixed somewhere else,” An Tian said as his gaze passed by Noah.
Jake sat quietly as he looked at Noah and then averted his gaze.
Noah didn’t comment as he sat quietly and looked the other way. There was sudden silence and awkwardness that mostly everyone understood but Lu Lian.
She looked at Ming Rusheng to ask what happened and he signalled her by looking at Jake and then moving his gaze to Noah.
Lu Lian was about to gasp in shock but Ming Rusheng put his hand on hers asking her to not react. Just like others, he could see the awkwardness between the two while Lu Lian screamed inside.
