”Are you fine?” the worried girl asked, looking at Lu Lijun who was sitting on the couch with his head lowered and breathing unevenly and looked uncomfortable. She touched his hand, and asked again, “What happened?”
Lu Lijun shrugged her hand and said in a cold but painful voice, “Stay away from me.”
Jiang Yuyan strode inside in a hurry as it did not take her time to understand what was happening with Lu Lijun.
”Call the doctor,” Jiang Yuyan instructed Xiao Min and San Zemin while she went straight to the girl. Lu Lijun saw her as she was always his hope in any trouble but at this moment he was busy dealing with what was happening with him.
Seeing Jiang Yuyan, the girl stood up, “President Lu…..”
Slap!
With a hard slap from Jiang Yuyan, the girl fell back on the couch and the next moment found a strong grip of hand choking her.
Cough!
The girl struggled to breathe as she saw the furious woman ready to kill her by choking. She heard Jiang Yuyan’s threatening voice, “How dare you?”
”Cough! I..did…not..do anything.” The girl managed to say with too much struggle as she saw her death in front of her eyes.
Meanwhile, Xiao Min went to Lu Lijun who didn’t allow anyone to touch him while San Zemin called for the doctor.
They heard Jiang Yuyan warning the girl, “You and your family will pay for it.”
”Cough!..Trust me..I…”
Jiang Yuyan let go of the girl who had Jiang Yuyan’s fingerprints printed on her delicate cheeks.
The girl who was almost suffocating to death coughed as she tried to inhale as much air as she could.
”Send her out,” Jiang Yuyan instructed Xiao Min and looked at San Zemin, “Go get the doctor right away.”
”He is on the way,” San Zemin replied.
”Will it hurt if you go and check?” Jiang Yuyan raised her voice and he went out with Xiao Min who was escorting the girl out.
Jiang Yuyan went to Lu Lijun who didn’t look in a good state. “Lu Lijun,” she called for him but he didn’t reply as he looked lost.
She sat next to him on the couch and held his hand which had his face buried in them.
”Don’t touch me,” he said in a weak and restrained voice as he shrugged her hand and stood up from the couch, “Leave me alone.”
Jiang Yuyan could do what he asked her to and she stood up as well. “Doctor will be here soon. It will be fine.”
He finally looked at her, his eyes red and looked drunk, “Didn’t you hear me. Leave me alone if you don’t want to be in trouble. Just get out from here,” he loosened his tie and threw it out and even his jacket he threw away as if they were suffocating him.
Jiang Yuyan didn’t know what to do and dialed San Zemin’s number, “Where is the doctor.”
”He will be here in ten minutes.”
”Make it fast,” she said and hung up the call only to see something more shocking.
”Smash!”
Lu Lijun smashed the glass vase kept on the table. He kneeled on the floor and picked up the sharp piece of it in his hands.
”Lu Lijun what are you…..” the next moment she swallowed her words seeing him in pain.
Lu Lijun gripped that broken piece in his hand though it pained a lot. The blood started to drip from his hand but he didn’t let go of it. It was his way to distract himself from what he was going through and to suppress it, pain was the remedy for him.
In a panic, Jiang Yuyan hurried towards him, kneeled next to him, and held his hurt hand, “Let go of it, Lu Lijun. Don’t hurt yourself,” she was worried, scared and felt the pain seeing him in pain while she could not help him.
”Better… than… hurting you,” he said with greeted teeth and his eyes shut tightly.
It hurt her even more. She could see anything but him getting hurt.
She hugged him as her eyes turned teary, “You can hurt me. Let go of it. I don’t mind if you hurt me.”
With much effort, Lu Lijun pushed her away, “Don’t..make it difficult for me,” he looked at her, breathing heavily, as he said under the greeted teeth, trying to bear the pain “You will regret it later.”
”I won’t,” she said as her sight fixed in his hand which was gripping the sharp glass piece even tighter. His face turned sweaty and looked red as the drug in his body was getting stronger.
Not replying to her, he stood up and looked at the door in the room. She stood up as well, “I mean it. Just use me. Stop hurting yourself.”
With the blood dripping from his hand, and with unstable footsteps, Lu Lijun walked towards the door which was supposed to be the bathroom. Feeling pain helped him clear his mind and he knew what he should do and that was to go away from Jiang Yuyan or he didn’t know what he would do to her.
”Lu Lijun,” she called him again but only to hear the loud sound of a door slamming after he warned her, “Don’t follow me.”
Looking at the closed bathroom door, she called San Zemin again, “Where the hell is the doctor? Do you all have planned to disappoint me today only? If you can’t be here in five minutes, you all can go somewhere and die.” She didn’t know what she was even talking about. All she had in mind was worry about Lu Lijun as her eyes noticed the trail of blood on the floor which dripped from his hand.
She heard the sound of water flowing and understood what he was doing. It was cold and he was under the shower. Jiang Yuyan hurried open the door and saw him under the cold shower water as he was kneeling on the ground with his head lowered as the cold water ran along his body and his clothes drenched completely.
