Once they both had breakfast and Ming Rusheng put the tray aside, Lu Lian asked, “Now tell me.”
Sighing deeply, Ming Rusheng sat next to her and replied after a pause, “I should have waited and planned it somewhere at a place that is ours. Then you wouldn’t have to hurry to leave instead of getting a nice rest. It’s like I am failing in taking care of you.”
This surprised Lu Lian and she smiled at his thoughtfulness and instructed softly, “Look at me.”
Just as he looked at her, she cupped his face in her palms and pecked on his lips, “Don’t think like this. It’s far better to me than a luxurious hotel room. It has our precious memories. This place is special and I will never forget the last night.”
Finally, Ming Rusheng could relax and peck back on her lips, “Such a sweet talker.”
“But last night if you had decided to wait, I would have beaten you for sure,” she warned sweetly.
Ming Rusheng was happy and had no words to say. He hugged her tightly, “Thank you for being with me.”
Lu Lian hugged him back.
“Shall we leave?” he asked.
She nodded and then again realized something, “Oh god…I didn’t inform anyone that I would be out…God, what would I say when They will ask?”
“You don’t want them to know about us?” he asked.
“Of course I want to but I can’t go home like this. See I can’t even walk.
“Who said you are going home?” he countered.
“Then?”
“You are going with me.”
“No…Not your home..” she said, feeling scared. In such a condition, she didn’t wish to face any family member.
“Don’t worry. We are going somewhere I can take care of you and be with you.”
“Ah! Fine then,” she said and mumbled, “Don’t know how I am gonna explain this in the home.”
“I will take you home personally once you are better and will take care of it,” Ming Rusheng replied as if it was not a big deal for him while Lu Lian was feeling worried.
Though her family had given her freedom and they were people with modern thinking, she was the daughter of the family and she had to give an explanation to them.
“Let’s go now,” Ming Rusheng instructed and lifted her in his arms.
“Keep me down. I can walk,” she exclaimed.
“Be quiet,” he said coldly and walked out of the workshop, carrying her in his arms.
Just as they crossed the garden, she spoke, “Mr. Wong might see her and it won’t look good….”
“Old man was once a romantic person to mind these things,” Ming Rusheng commented. As they walked towards the parking lot, they heard a voice, “Leaving without saying a goodbye.”
Ming Rusheng turned to look at the old man while Lu Lian didn’t know where to hide and said in a low voice, “Put me down.”
Ming Rusheng ignored her and instead replied to Mr. Wong, “My woman is shy to face anyone after she had spent the night here with me.”
Cough! Cough!
Lu Lian didn’t know what to say and just then they heard Mr. Wong, “One should always listen to their woman. You can leave,” Mr. Wong permitted.
With a light nod, Ming Rusheng turned to leave and heard Mr. Wong again, “This entire place belongs to you two now. Don’t hesitate to come here again.”
Ming Rusheng nodded and left towards his car. He put Lu Lian in the front passenger seat and fixed her seatbelt. Lu Lian was silent, feeling buried under embarrassment.
Ming Rusheng sat in the driver’s seat and said while starting the car, “Relax. Other than our grandparents, he is one more person who was waiting for us to be together. I am sure the old man is very happy and would have called our grandparents by now to share his happiness. Don’t be surprised if in the next meeting, he asks you for grandkids.”
Lu Lian nodded and Ming Rusheng turned the car to leave.
Once they were away from Mr. Wong’s home and entered the highway, Lu Lian instructed, “On the way, stop by the pharmacy.”
“Why not go to the doctor instead,” he asked.
“There is no need for a doctor’s visit to buy contraceptives,” she replied.
Screech!
With a sudden break, the car stopped.
“What happened?” Lu Lian asked in shock.
He looked at her, “Why are you getting contraceptives? I mean it’s fine if you get pregnant.” There was a tinge of excitement and happiness in his eyes.
“Don’t get so excited, okay. I am not ready to share you with kids so soon. I want our time alone for a long time. Only you and me,” she replied straightforwardly.
He sighed, “I almost thought about having kids.”
“Don’t even think about it,” she warned.
“As the old man said, one should always listen to his woman,” Ming Rusheng mumbled and drove away.
They stopped at the pharmacy and Ming Rusheng bought contraceptive pills for her. He passed her the pills with a water bottle.
“Thank you.” She had it finally.
They reached the hotel that belonged to Mings. “Are we going to stay here?”
Ming Rusheng nodded, “Don’t worry. Soon we will have our own place.”
“I didn’t mean like that…”
He smirked, “Anyways this entire hotel can be our place too. If you want I can vacate it right away.”
“Ahhh! No need to trouble others. Your suite is enough for me.”
Ming Rusheng stepped out of the car and passed the key to the security. He opened the door for Lu Lian to help her out.
“Don’t carry me here at least,” she warned.
“If not, everyone will guess how rough I was with you,” he said and picked her up to carry her to the VIP elevator.
Lu Lian had no other option and let him be.
They reached the suite that belonged to Ming Rusheng. He put her in the bed and only then let her go.
He covered her with a blanket and sat next to her.
“Don’t treat me like I am sick. I am fine,” she replied.
“I am the one to turn you like this so don’t you stop me from taking care of you,” he warned, “If you are really fine, then I won’t mind resuming our before wedding honeymoon.”
Lu Lian gulped as his eyes were full of warning. “Now that I think about it, I am not feeling that good. I need to rest.”
Ming Rusheng patted her head, “Good.”
She pulled out a forced smile and thought, ‘He was so gentle till coming here but now again went back to his dangerous self.’
