1489 Don’t You Dare Disturb Her
Chu Qi flinched as he heard her footsteps get further away.
After a while, he pulled off his covers and got up to walk out.
He opened the door only to see a lonely basin of water sitting next to the door.
Chu Qi stared at the basin for quite a while before bending over to carry it into his room.

Long Yin and Yaoyao arrived at the South Conquering General Mansion to see Chu Qi. They also wanted to see how Ji’er was doing there.
When they saw Ji’er dressed in a maidservant’s uniform, Long Yin frowned.
“Ji’er.” His voice deepened.
“Royal Brother.” Ji’er walked over to him but suddenly felt nervous when she saw the unhappy look on his face. “What’s wrong?”
“You…” Long Yin only managed one word before he found himself unable to say anything more.
He wanted to berate her, but when it came to this sister, he could not bear to be harsh.
In the end, he reached out to rub her head. “You’re such a silly girl.”
Yaoyao, who was at his side, said, “Yes, isn’t she silly? Why would she come here to be a maidservant when she could have been a princess in the Palace?”
Long Yin darted her a look. “I’m worried about Ji’er being here all alone. Why don’t you stay here and accompany her?”

Ji’er was confused by this conversation. “What has this got to do with Xue’er?”
Yaoyao winked at her quite a few times and was about to say something when Long Yin suddenly changed the topic. “By the way, how is Lil Qi doing? Is he alright?”
“His condition has stabilized and there isn’t much issue with his wounds,” Ji’er replied.
It was at that moment that a head popped up from behind Long Yin and winked at Ji’er. “Third Princess.”
“Qi Heng? What are you doing here?” Ji’er looked at him with slight surprise.
Qi Heng walked out from behind Long Yin and said a little sadly, “I wanted to give you a surprise, but you didn’t even notice me.”
“I won’t be able to see you if you hide behind Royal Brother,” said Ji’er.
Yaoyao covered her mouth in laughter. “Qi Heng, what Ji’er meant to say was that you’re too short. You were completely hidden while standing behind my Royal Brother.”

Yaoyao burst out laughing.
Even Long Yin was smiling.
Qi Heng’s face fell. “Princess Ji’er, maybe it’s best that you don’t console me.” They were all the same age, why would she still say he was still young?
Yaoyao patted him on the shoulder. “Go home and have a few more bowls of rice, Qi Heng. You’ll be able to grow taller that way.”
Qi Heng rolled his eyes. “You say such mean things, Second Princess.”
