Xu Xinduo quickly followed him and asked, “Why did you come in?”
“Why can’t I come in? There’s no one else here and it’s already so late. You see, it’s past ten o’clock already. Or do you perhaps want me to go home?”
Xu Xinduo didn’t care as she grabbed Tong Yan and walked towards the door. She brought his coat and put it on him before she demanded him to leave, “Okay, thank you for picking me up, goodbye.”
Tong Yan, with a coat draped over his shoulders and juice in hand, stood outside the door with a shocked expression as he asked, “You’re going to drive me away like this?”
“Mm,” Xu Xinduo nodded seriously.
“You heartless little thing!”
Xu Xinduo entered the house again before she took out a scarf for Tong Yan. Wrapping it around his neck, she stated, “It’s cold at night, so dress warmly, goodbye.”
Before Tong Yan could react, Xu Xinduo closed the door and locked it from the inside. He couldn’t open it even if his fingerprints were recognised from the outside.
Tong Yan could only slip on his shoes at the entrance. If he knew that things would turn out like this, he wouldn’t have gotten that extra layer of security!

It’s not that Xu Xinduo didn’t want to let Tong Yan remain, but it was evident that the relationship between the two of them began to improve by leaps and bounds after their confessions.
Tong Yan was becoming a little too natural, especially when there were only the two of them together. He became blatant, unscrupulous and shameless.
Hence, allowing Tong Yan to stay with her would be like bringing a wolf into the house, so she chased him away to protect herself.

Xu Xinduo wanted to keep her distance from Tong Yan. After Tong Yan changed classes, she didn’t have much contact with Tong Yan either. It was once suspected that the two had ‘broken up’.

However, his movements were still too slow. Xu Xinduo came over quickly and she reached out to grab his arm. Then, she picked up his language papers and started to read through it.
Tong Yan felt his scalp tingling instantly. He coughed lightly and asked, “Umm… do you drink oolong tea? I’ll buy it.”
“Nope.”
“Do you want to eat fruit bowls(1)?”
(T/N: It’s an Asian delicacy where you cut up a bunch of fruit, put it in a bowl mixed with some melted rock sugar, honey, yoghurt etc. Best eaten chilled and it’s great for summer, kind of like an Acai bowl)
“No I don’t.”
“Do you-“
“Shut up.”
“Okay,” Tong Yan abided.
