With just one sentence, many of the elderly people in the nursing home looked at Xu Xinduo and Tong Yan.
“Tsk tsk, look at these two; their children would probably be tall.”
“They look good too! Look at their faces—how handsome!”
“The little girl is a little thin. Eating more can keep her healthy, but her p̲e̲l̲v̲i̲s̲ appears to be good.”
Xu Xinduo became a panicked mess. With that being said, Tong Yan directly clasped her shoulders and agreed, “Look, grandpa and grandma are right; be good and eat more in the future”
Xu Xinduo gave Tong Yan a look before ignoring him and going straight to Grandma Xu’s room.
The two entered Grandma Xu’s room one after the other. There, they saw Father Mu seated inside.
Xu Xinduo was shocked the moment he saw Father Mu. As she walked in, she saw Grandma Xu quickly wipe her tears. She didn’t know what Father Mu had just said to the elder, but it definitely made her visibly upset.
Her expression instantly soured. Her final borderline would be crossed should one bother the people she cared about. Xu Xinduo might not have been this angry if he provoked the girl herself, but she could not be calm after realising that he was provoking Grandma Xu.
She glanced at Father Mu and said, “Why are you here?”
Father Mu glanced at Tong Yan and didn’t seem to care much. Then he smiled calmly and said, “It’s Chinese New Year, so shouldn’t I have to come to visit the elderly? After all, she brought up my daughter. So she is kind of my benefactor, isn’t she?”
During this period of time, Father Mu had long asked Mother Mu to find Xu Xinduo. However, not only did he not receive any news of his daughter, Mother Mu requested for a divorce as soon as she got back.
The family was in pandemonium and it didn’t stop for a few days. It was Chinese New Year, but it was simply impossible to celebrate the New Year together in this atmosphere.
Mu Qingyi also remained in his room all day, but he would occasionally attend the make-up classes.
Mu Qingyao behaved very well, sometimes going to find Shen Zhuhang.
Mother Mu simply moved to a friend’s place and she did not return for a few days. Rumours say that she was contacting a divorce lawyer.
When Xu Xinduo first got to the Mu house, the Mu family promised to arrange a nursing home for Grandma Xu and bear the expenses of the nursing home. Because the Mu family promised this, Xu Xinduo went to live with the Mu family in ease.
Father Mu naturally knew where Grandma Xu lived. Of course, he knew that Xu Xinduo was very filial to Grandma Xu. Hence, he came here on New Year’s Eve, thinking that Xu Xinduo would definitely come to visit Grandma Xu.
And he truly managed to wait for her arrival.
He must find Xu Xinduo because he knew that the root cause of the conflict in the family was none other than her. If Xu Xinduo was stabilized and allowed to return to the Mu house, Mother Mu would probably stop causing trouble.
With that, all problems at home would be resolved.
Xu Xinduo walked over quickly and came to Grandma Xu and asked, “Grandma, what did he tell you?”
“Nothing much…” Grandma Xu didn’t seem to want to make a fuss and answered vaguely. She was not sure whether Father Mu knew about Tong Yan’s existence as most of them did not, so she was still panicking for Xu Xinduo and Tong Yan.
Xu Xinduo suppressed her anger forcibly before she turned back and said to Father Mu, “Please get out.”
Tong Yan was pulling onto his sleeves on one side as he had already seen this unpleasant man more than he would have liked. If the man wasn’t Xu Xinduo’s own father, Tong Yan would have beaten Father Mu many times.
