The house was located in the north and it was very dry during the winter, especially when there was geothermal heat. Hence, turning the humidifier on would make them feel more comfortable.
After doing all that, Tong Yan placed the phone at a spot where Xu Xinduo could easily reach with a stretch of her hand. He said, “If anything happens, give me a call. I’ll just be next door.”

“I’m going to work!”

“Then why are you working so hard?”

Hence, I plan to bring Grandma over, where the three of us will gather here to spend New Year’s together. So, make sure that your cold gets better before Grandma comes or you’re going to worry her.”

Tong Yan really couldn’t resist being convinced by her— with one sentence of hers, she was capable of making him hold his tongue and choke on his own words.
In the end, he let Xu Xinduo leave to go to work. He said to her when she entered the elevator, “Don’t overwork yourself.”
