Lu Li frowned. He threw a look to Su Zixin’s eyebrows but could not see anything. Remembering Astro Emperor’s unfathomable smile, Lu Li asked, “Are reading spirit lifeblood and fortune telling different? Are you able to tell God’s design and figure out a person’s fate beforehand?”
“They are not the same.”
Su Zixi explained. “By reading spirit lifeblood, I can only tell a person’s fortune within a short period of time. The more fortunate ones usually have a more promising future. You understand that at certain stages, luck and opportunism are also important for warriors.”
“Sure!”
Lu Li shrugged. “Brother Su, thank you for your kindness. I have finished my job for this month though. I will come to you for help if such needs arise in the future.”
“Ha, ha, I know that you will finish such a trivial job given your luck.” Su Zixi grinned. He patted Lu Li on his shoulder and said, “Let’s go and hand the Spring Gold in.”
Lu Li moved his shoulder away from Su Zixi’s hands subtly. It was hard for him to approve other people. He would not become sworn brothers with Su Zixi just because of a few words.
They headed toward a castle. Before they entered the castle, many people had noticed them. Those that could go in were here to hand in the Spring Gold. Those two had obtained enough pieces.
There were five prefecture warriors in the castle. Each of them was sitting behind a desk. Two other warriors were here to submit their Spring Gold. Lu Li and Su Zixi each walked toward a prefecture warrior and stated that they were here to deliver.
“Name, code!” The prefecture warrior in front of Lu Li said indifferently. “What code?” Lu Li asked.
“There is a code on the iron pick you got. That is your code.” The prefecture warrior gave a cold answer.
Lu Li took out the iron pick to read. “Lord, my name is Li Lu, No. 10730. Here is my Spring Gold quota for this month.”
Lu Li took out the Spring Gold from his Interspatial Ring. He had used the hunchbacked old man’s ring because his Interspatial Ring could not store Spring Gold.
“Okay!” The prefecture warrior put away the Spring Gold and waved Lu Li away. “Off you go. Come back next month.”
Su Zixi was done as well. When Lu Li was about to leave, an ugly prefecture warrior with eyes like those of a bird suddenly cast a glare at Lu Li. “Halt!”
Lu Li looked over to that prefecture warrior. His bird eyes were filled with a look of close examination. The prefecture warrior even paid special attention to Lu Li’s white hair. Lu Li was filled with doubt. He bowed respectfully and asked, “Lord, may I know what do you need from me?”
“What is your name? Which universe are you from?” That prefecture warrior asked coldly. However, he acted with such ease as if this was just a random question.
Lu Li was taken aback. Even so, he did not hesitate and answered, seemingly with honestly, “I am Li Lu from the Grand Martial Universe.”
Su Zixi raised his eyebrows. Since he was from the Grand Martial Universe, he knew Lu Li was lying. That being said, Su Zixi did not state anything or show anything from his eyes.
“Grand Martial Universe?”
A glint of sharpness suddenly rose in that prefecture warrior’s eyes. Something about him overwhelmed Lu Li. “Are you sure you are not lying? The consequences of fooling me are quite serious.” He said solemnly.
Lu Li cupped his fists and replied calmly, “I will not lie to you, my lord!”
“If I ever find out that you are lying, hmm!” The prefecture warrior snorted. “Now, leave.” He waved Lu Li away.
Lu Li cupped his fists to bid farewell, and Su Zixi left with him. Outside the castle, Lu Li slowed down, so he could hear them talking inside.
“Why did you ask where that new guy is from?”
Someone asked. That prefecture warrior with bird eyes clearly gave a very vague answer, “No reason. I thought that guy is someone else from the universe I came from. I see that he is not.”
Lu Li quickened his steps and hurried toward the castle he lived in. His mind was weighed down with worry. Su Zixi was sensible enough to not ask anything. He just walked away with Lu Li silently.
“Brother Su, please keep this a secret. I owe you so much.”
Lu Li suddenly whispered to Su Zixi when they were about to step into the castle. Su Zixi asked no question. He merely patted Lu Li’s shoulder and said, “Brother Li, don’t worry about it. Making a friend takes longer than a day or two. A distant journey tests the strength of a horse and a long task proves the character of a man. You will know… that you will find a good friend in me.”
“Do you mind coming to my room for a moment?”
Lu Li asked with a smile. Su Zixi nodded and followed Lu Li to his room which was so small that it could only house a bed and a chair. Lu Li asked Su Zixi to take the chair and turned on the Inhibition Formation in the room. Afterward, Lu Li said nothing. He took a moment to deliberate about the expressions and questions of that bird-eyed prefecture warrior!
“It seems like Yan Tiangang’s influence has reached here.”

“Another patriarch of a township?” Lu Li was surprised. “Does every prefecture have many township patriarchs?”
“Yes.”
Su Zixi said. “Each prefecture has over ten thousand township patriarchs. The immortals on the list with some abilities can become a patriarch in a township. A mighty warrior can be a patriarch in any prefecture they join. My great-grandpa is a mighty warrior in the Divinity, among the top sixty thousand. He has earned some fame.”
“Really? Sorry I didn’t know!”
Lu Li was taken aback. He did not expect that Su Zixi had such a connection. He had been in such a low profile, and he had never bragged about it. Another immortal that ascended the same time as Lu Li had been bragging along the way.
