The Immortal’s Poison Chapter 311

Chapter 311 - Fighting Against All Odds

Tu Mi who was always smiling and hardly wore her heart on her sleeve was now left with half a face.

Not long ago, they were surrounded by a large group of monsters. They were slightly careless when they broke through. Something that looked like a racoon pounced in front of Tu Mi and slashed at her. With just one slash, Tu Mi, who was as powerful as a Five-Blessing elite had half of her face torn off. If it were not for the dwarf Taoist priest who controlled his flying sword to kill that little monster, Tu Mi who was dying of pain might not have even managed to protect the other half of her face.

The World Sect’s good hands who followed her were less than a hundred people. Almost half of the Qilian disciples led by the dwarf Taoist priest had died. They supported the group on the right flank…

The monsters from Shiwan Mountains had attacked them here five days ago. The cultivators within the place of the outer fringe started to fight for themselves, or rather, run for their lives.

In terms of their cultivation base, Tu Mi and the dwarf Taoist priest were undoubtedly one of the stronger ones in the place of the outer fringe. Ever since they broke the city, they had joined forces. They protected Wen Leyang and Chi Maojiu as they slowly retreated backwards. Along the way, countless cultivators joined their ranks, while many had died. In the end, the ones left were their own people…

There were monsters and solo-fighting cultivators everywhere. There was dirty blood and shreds of corpses everywhere…

Of course, Tu Mi and the others were not relentless in their killings. If that were so, even if they had three times as many men, they would have all perished by now. If it were to be precisely counted, they only fought three real battles with the monsters throughout the last five days. Most of the time, they relied on the World Sect’s methods to hide and sneak around. All they did was retreat and run, whilst carefully avoiding the monsters.

The World Sect had been ceaselessly hunted by the Five Blessings for a thousand years. The cultivation bases of the sects that were passed on might not be too profound, but they were well-versed in guerilla warfare. From this alone, the Qilian disciples also basked in the glory of the World Sect. However, the dwarf Taoist priest returned the favor with a favor. He did not abandon the World Sect when they were surrounded by monsters.

Tu Mi who charged out from the barricade had led her subordinates and the Qilian disciples to hide among a pile of ruins. She finally found time to whip out a pill to chew on. However, the pill rolled and slipped out from her open jaw. A World Sect skinny little man who followed her had wanted to laugh but did not have the courage to. He quickly picked up the pill and tossed it into his own mouth, disregarding how unhygienic doing so was. After he chewed on it haphazardly, he spat it out and carefully applied it onto Tu Mi’s wounds.

Tu Mi was still in the mood to chuckle and say, “When we get out, I’ll promote you to a great overlord! You’ll be in charge of Shanxi in the future!”

The skinny little man was shocked. He then answered with a face full of tears, “Responding to the great master Tu Mi, I am the great overlord, in charge of Shanxi…”

The others around them tried hard to stifle their laughter. The people of the World Sect were afraid of death, but before they faced their impending doom, they would certainly maximise every opportunity they had to laugh!

Soon after, a few figures that resembled ghosts floated into the ruins. They reported to Tu Mi like an overflowing tap.

“A large group of monsters are coming head-on from the west!”

“So as the south.”

“A huge gully has appeared in the east due to the earthquake. With our current situation, at least half of us won’t be able to make it.”

“The monsters in the north had killed off a band of cultivators just now and had dispersed…”

The man who returned last from the recon mission had yet to finish when he was slapped by Tu Mi. She chuckled as she scolded, “F*ck you! Next time, be the first to speak!”

The group of people walked precariously with footsteps more nimble than a leopard’s, but faster than falcons. They went out of the ruins in a single file and moved towards the north. The few World Sect disciples who brought up the rear had scattered medicinal powder onto themselves to carefully diminish their scent. They then moved on to follow their comrades.

Soon after, a slaughterhouse appeared in front of everyone. The thick blood on the ground flowed; it was as thick as a finger. Severed limbs, minced flesh, broken eyeballs, shattered teeth, dull magic weapons, and blood-stained talisman scripts soon took over…

Footprints of all shapes and sizes emanated from the pool of blood. It grew fainter and fainter until they eventually disappeared.

Tu Mi chuckled as she reminded everyone, “Be careful not to slip…” Her voice barely faded when a series of crackling, breaking sounds erupted from below their feet. A giant monster, clad in rock armor the size of a five-story building, suddenly shattered the ground and leapt out. It waved its fist, the size of a small house, and heavily crushed it towards them.

Tu Mi squalled. She made a seal with her hands and a puff of greenish black light shone. It met the giant monster’s fist. With a muffled bang, the big fat man spat out a mouthful of fresh blood. He squalled and turned into a rolling gourd as he fell sideways. However, the subordinates that gathered beside her, who did not react in time, had still managed to save themselves from being completely annihilated.

The World Sect disciples immediately shouted with rage. More than a hundred magic weapons flew high and low. They mercilessly flew towards the giant monster and attacked it!

The men of the Qilian Immortal Sects who had been protecting the flank of the World Sect disciples stayed silent. Under the dwarf Taoist priest’s leadership, they directed the scarlet sword formation and slashed the monster that blocked their way…

Muffled bangs intertwined; bold and loud. The anonymous monster lacked powerful magic art, but its rock armor was harder than everyone had imagined. Even with the hundred magic weapons’ attacks, its body only shook slightly. Other than being slightly bothered by the Qilian sword formation, it did not even dodge the other magic weapons. Its two giant fists danced in the wind as it rained down haphazardly on the colony of ants at its feet!

No one knew whether it was intentional or a pure coincidence that the position of the giant monster was right where their escape route was. The surrounding terrain were giant pits and large rifts created by the earthquake. They could neither pass through it nor take a detour.

The dwarf Taoist priest was ghastly pale, and spouted curse after curse as he leapt out. Under the cover of the scarlet chain and sky-covering magic weapons, hand signs, talisman spells and spell gestures were intertwined together. Five fire divine thunder was ceaselessly rocked up as he wanted to topple this tiger in his way!

The giant monster was bruised and battered. Its howling squalls, which could not be ascertained if they were an angry howl or a wail, seemed to have taken root in the ground. It would not take even half a step back no matter what. At this moment, the disciples that brought up the rear staggered up to the group. They shouted anxiously, “The monsters behind us are catching up!”

Tu Mi was finally flustered; she squalled and cried. She tried to crawl but she kept slipping around the slippery blood plasma. Her head and face was covered in bloodstains. She pointed at the giant monster who blocked the way and shouted shrilly, “Remove it!”

In the blink of an eye, piercing sounds of yells shocked the skies!

Every cultivator was mad with rage. They urged their entire life vitality without reservations and desperately waved their magic weapons as they charged towards the giant monster. Amidst muffled bangs, the magic weapons destroyed in the clash were innumerable. The World Sect disciples who lost their magic weapons ignored their grave injuries. They howled angrily like wild wolves. With only their bodies, they charged towards the monster which remained unharmed, even by magic weapons!

If they died, great master Tu might still live. If great master Tu died, everyone would die as well! Five Blessings of the right cultivation path and the cultivators under the heavens had long regarded the World Sect as merciless evil beasts. However, this loyalty grew from experiencing life and death situations for a thousand years and staying strong protecting each other for generations. Even if it were tossed to the ends of the world, it could still turn a dark cloud, white!

A huge group of monsters behind them gathered into a black mass. Thundering footsteps almost churned the earth. The scattered severed limbs and minced flesh jumped ceaselessly due to the vibrations. Maybe in no time, these top-most elite cultivators in the place of the outer fringe would be surrounded by the monsters and butchered until none were left.

Tu Mi did not even need to look back. The wanton life-risking vanguard of the sons before her already made her eyes bulge. The fat woman finally stood up with the support of her subordinates. She howled madly at the dwarf Taoist priest, “I’ll leave the sons to you!” After she said that, the bones in her body crackled like firecrackers. Tu Mi then strenuously squeezed out from the depths of her chest and lungs, “The devil’s dismantlement!”

The devil’s dismantlement was akin to the demonic ‘Demon Body Breaking Spell’. It was the final straw – a strike used by the evil cult’s elites by damaging their own bodies in exchange for life vitality when they were powerless to act! After it was activated, at best, they would be gravely injured, at best. In the worst case scenario, they would be completely destroyed.

With a ‘pa’, Tu Mi’s back quickly split open, as if she was whipped by an unseen divine whip. Under the mist of blood which sprayed forth, Tu Mi fumed like an extremely angry mother duck. She leapt high into the air and collided with the giant monster!

Tu Mi had the resolve to die. She only hoped that the power obtained by offering her mashed body and broken bones would be enough to shatter this monster in front of them, which was as sizable as a large mountain!

At this instant, a shrill howl rose behind her. A figure resembling an angered leopard enveloped in a rage that no ordinary person could comprehend, shot past Tu Mi with a flash. It struck mercilessly on the giant monster’s chest! In the eyes of the hundred or so cultivators who survived, time seemed to have frozen over with just one punch…

The rock-armored monster which had been brandishing its fangs and claws, which seemed to appear unfazed, suddenly froze in its actions. One of its giant fists was half-raised in the air, while the other had just struck the ground. A strange gleam shone in its ferocious giant eyes. At an instant, the gleam blazed, and with two bangs, the monster’s eyeballs erupted.

Then, mottled cracks appeared without so much as a warning sign. They covered the entire body of the monster in no time. With no time to let out a wail, the giant monster turned into a mash of sticky, blood-covered flesh. It piled up on the ground with a crash.

It was then that everyone else present understood what had happened. They cheered almost hysterically!

Wen Leyang woke up.

When Wen Leyang woke up, he did not even know what had happened. When he saw that Tu Mi was about to die crashing into the monster, he immediately pounced. His strike with the full force of his poison could not even be withstood by the peerless demon immortals, let alone the dumb thing before him. However, after he killed the monster, two words rose within his heart – Save. Them….

Wen Leyang’s body turned in midair. As dexterous as a swallow, he supported the big fat woman, Tu Mi, who was large enough to fit both of his wives, before dropping silently to the ground.

At the same time, a muffled shout which still carried a sense of sleepiness came from among the cultivators. Then, hundreds of fire falcons danced in the air, while innumerable giant black vines burst out of the ground. Blood then sprayed everywhere, which even blanketed the skies. Shrill wails filled the space. Little Chi Maojiu was then awakened. The first thing he did after opening his eyes was to activate his Witchcraft to kill the monsters that came from behind!

Wen Leyang was overjoyed. He still carried Tu Mi as he leapt up to little Chi Maojiu, “Are you awake?”

Chi Maojiu was quite helpless when asked this question. He replied, “You’re awake as well?”

Wen Leyang chuckled and tried to activate his Poison of Life and Death. The centipede grass was true to its name. The wounds all over his body had completely healed and his Art of Poison was also restored. However, Ning Jiao’s armor was already shattered, Ning Jiao’s sting was still broken in two, but Bony Ning Jiao was nowhere to be seen…

The immortal grass’ effect was only meant to affect people, but not save treasures. Although this set of Ning Jiao magic weapons grew with him, they still needed some time to rest within his body to recuperate, lest he would not be able to use it in the near future.

Chi Maojiu’s powers were not as powerful as Wen Leyang’s. Although he ate the centipede grass after Wen Leyang did, they both woke up at the same time.

The disaster before their eyes was temporarily averted. Tu Mi escaped from death with great calamity. Her half face gave an ugly smile, “The two of you… did that on purpose right? If you guys were a few seconds faster, I wouldn’t have to use the devil’s dismantlement.”

Wen Leyang chuckled, “Close-ranged attacks. I woke up just in time. Or else, if I was a moment slower, you wouldn’t be able to use the devil’s dismantlement ever again.”

The dwarf Taoist priest also looked happy. At the edge of life and death, two peerless elites had been added to their ranks. The Taoist priest’s heart bloomed with happiness. He quickly walked up to them and stared at Chi Maojiu with a smile, “Wen Leyang, you’re finally awake!”

Chi Maojiu rubbed his hands and diverted the topic, “Qilian immortal master and the World Sect brothers are special guests of Seven Maidens Mountain in the future! Amongst the two of you… whose wounds are more serious?”

The dwarf Taoist priest’s gaze shifted quickly and he looked at Wen Leyang. He replied Chi Maojiu with a snort, “Although the monster was powerful, this poor priest’s cultivation base could still have handled it. Grand master might be injured quite badly though!”

Chi Maojiu nodded. He took out the final blade of centipede grass from his woven sack without hesitation. He carefully fed it to Tu Mi. Regret arose on the dwarf Taoist priest’s old face, “You know… I’m not that well off as well…”
