”Do you think I’m jobless and can come up with trash just to scare you, why don’t we try it?” He suggested with a smiling gaze on her.
He was starting to find things funny. Gazing at her and seeing how confident she looked as if she was innocent, he couldn’t help but laugh.
It would have been very interesting and more fun to pull down that mask in front of everybody, but he just couldn’t do that, because he needed to make a trade with her, since that divorce was important to him. And that is one of the reasons he wasn’t troubled about whether he could get the divorce from bed.
”Fine! let’s try!” Fu Juan said with folded arms. If he was going to talk about money laundering or helping a fraudster politician with money, then he would be literally wasting his time.
Once she declared that, her husband stepped forwards again and leaned in to whisper some words to her ears as a small smile played on his lips.
He hadn’t even finished speaking when Fu Juan took a few steps backward with a terrified look on her face. She looked so broken and frightened said she was. being threatened at gunpoint.
Landing who was hiding behind the wall, frowned as she wondered why she wasn’t hearing anything, so she tried to peep and find out what was going on, only to see how shocked and frightened her mother looked from her facial expression.
As for the man standing before her, she couldn’t see his facial expression, but she could tell that he must be smiling now, given how he turned her mother’s confidence around.
”What did he say to her that made her so shaken?” Lanying muttered to herself with a frown as she quickly hid her face behind the wall again, just before he could turn his back and catch her.
Down the hallway stood two females with their gazes on Lanying.
”Say, would an innocent person have this kind of attitude?” FangSu asked with a frowning gaze directed at Meixu.
Meixu scoffed and said, “Do you need to ask? This is the reason we have to be careful with her. She acts innocent in front of everyone with that thick face of hers, but this is what she does behind our back. Eavesdropping even on her own mother.”
”That b*tch needs to be taught a lesson for this despicable act!” FangSu said as she rolled up her sleeves and was about to step forward, but Meixu drew her back.
”What are you going to?” Meixu asked with a big frown on her face.
FangSu replied with an impatient gaze, “Of course, I’m going to expose her in front of her mother who thinks she is innocent, and also in front of everyone…”
Meixu didn’t wait for her to finish what she had to say, and quickly pulled her to walk away, and as soon as they had just disappeared from sight, Lanying glanced towards that side because of the footsteps she heard. But as she didn’t see anybody, she fixed her concentration back on the duo close to her.
At the other end, FangSu shrugged Meixu’s hand and said to her with a deep frown and anger, “Why did you stop me from exposing that girl and testing down that annoying innocent facade she has?.”
”Are you that brainless? Have you thought what if your plans fail, because you don’t know Lanying very well and what she can do, and you just want to dive straight in?” Meixu said to her.
”What there to study about her? I can easily expose her right now! She is just a brainless girl who doesn’t know how to cheat!” FangSu declared.
Meixu clicked her tongue and said to her with pity, “How childish can you be? why do I feel that instead of that girl, you are the brainless one?”
”What do you mean?” FangSu asked angrily. No one could stand there and get insulted for no reason.
Meixu folded her arms and said to her, “This is me speaking from years of experience in acting. What if you go there and expose her in front of Aunt, but Aunt ends up defending her, makes a big case out of it, and the entire family sees you as someone who despises Lanying and lashes out on her because you have the power to do so?”
FangSu calmed down to dissect her words and couldn’t help but to agree with her. Their Aunt right now can do the imaginable. It’s possible that after exposing Lanying’s bad actions towards her, she would stand there to defend herself in front of the whole family, and everyone would think that she was making a case out of nothing.
”Eavesdropping might seem like nothing, but it is actually a trait sign to know someone’s true character,” FangSu said.
She agreed with what Fu Meixu said but when she thought back to what eavesdropping meant, she didn’t get why the rest of the family will take it lightly, but soon, she got to understand as Meixu explained things to her.
”Eavesdropping is a bad habit, but come to think of the current situation that our family is in. No one here likes Lanying even grandfather and Jia Li. Do you know why? It’s not because we know of Lanying’s bad side, but because of the circumstances surrounding her identity.”
”We all dislike Lanying because of Aunt, if not for Aunt and her attitude, and if she had told us about her adopted daughter long before now, we would have accepted Lanying, and wouldn’t have any reason to hate her unless we see veil traits on her,” Meixu explained.
FangSu nodded in understanding and couldn’t help but think back to the reason she disliked Lanying at first sight.
