It snowed the previous night and the temperature had plummeted. The entire city was covered in white.
An Yibei pulled over outside Ai Bao’s place, and the latter only rushed out about ten minutes later, still looking half-asleep.
“Morning.”
“Morning, Mr. An.” Ai Bao got into the car, yawning. “Can I take a nap here?”
An Yibei adjusted his glasses. “Go ahead.”
Happily wrapping her arms around the cushion on the passenger’s seat that had been specially prepared for her, Ai Bao closed her eyes and went back to sleep.
They arrived at the law firm shortly afterward.
An Yibei was going to wake her up, but seeing that she was fast asleep, he checked his watch for the time.
It was still quite early.
He arched an eyebrow. Well, he supposed she could sleep for a bit longer.
He picked up a file and studied it. It was a tough case and not something he could work on remotely from Yu City. He would probably have to go back to Ye City this week.
He had never thought much about going back and forth between the two cities. However, this time, he resisted the idea of leaving, despite how impassive he had always been.
An Yibei was the most sensible man out there. A simple analysis and he realized right away that it was all… because of her.

They had been going out for two weeks, during which time they had had dinner and gone to the cinema together. An Yibei even took the time to take her on a short trip, but he still didn’t have much confidence in Ai Bao’s feelings for him.
He knew Ai Bao had feelings for him, but he wasn’t sure that Ai Bao loved him.

The look in his eyes turned stern behind his glasses. “You want to keep your distance from me? Do I embarrass you?”
Ai Bao said in a flurry, “No… that’s not what I meant!”
“Go in with me, then.” An Yibei picked up her hand casually. “We’ll do this every day from now on.”
His deep, clear voice filled her ears like cool, flowing water.
An Yibei led her into the elevator, still holding her hand, which shocked everyone in the law firm who were on their way in.
Xiaomi, the receptionist, immediately spread the gossip throughout the entire firm!
