The Great Thief Chapter 1035

Chapter 1035 - Starving the Coward

There were boxes in almost every room, but there was no guarantee about what was within them. Most of them had one or more Ghost Sailors guarding them.

The Ghost Sailors weren’t hard to deal with; Lu Li got used to them after a while.

Unfortunately, the box in the first room only contained daily items. These were the kind that even NPC stores wouldn’t take, and included items like Rotten Fruit and Ripped Cloth.

The box in the second room contained three Ghost Sailors.

It wasn’t until the third room when Lu Li finally found something useful – a cloth Silver grade Chest Piece that was available to level 50 players. Besides this were a roll of bandages that could be used in battle to deal with wounds.

Lu Li didn’t give up just because he hadn’t yet found the stone that he needed. There were three decks in total, with the bottom deck being filled with sailors.

The chances of him looting a stone weren’t too high.

Just as he was comforting himself, the System came to suggest otherwise. He looted the box and heard a chime – the sound effect for a stone.

However, it was a Fortified Stone.

Although Fortified Stones were valuable, Lu Li wanted a Gemstone, especially the type that could reduce the level requirement on an equip.

The T1 pants that he had asked March Rain to craft previously had already been made. Now, he just needed a Gemstone so that he could equip a level 55 item. He also had a few other equipment pieces which required these stones.

There were 36 rooms in the bottom deck, but only three boxes dropped something valuable. If you excluded the Fortified Stone, then everything else was just rubbish equipment or broken sailing gear.

These equips can be sold to the NPC shops at a very high price.

However, Lu Li didn’t decide to do so – he had plans for them when sea maps were made available to players.

The top deck contained the least amount of rooms and Lu Li didn’t bother with the middle deck. He searched the few rooms at the top, finding more items and collecting quite a few broken equips and weapons.

However, he still hadn’t found the level requirement reduction stone.

Only the twelve rooms in the middle deck were left!

It was actually the middle deck that held the most things.

The bottom deck was where the lower leveled sailors lived, while the top deck belonged to people with specific roles, such as helmsmen and lookouts. Anyone with an important position lived in the middle deck, including the captains.

Lu Li immediately noticed the difference in the first room; the boxes had names.

Jenny’s Suit Case!

A woman?

Lu LI shook his head in confusion. If he remembered correctly, these kind of ships never took women, unless they were a Mage.

Fortunately, there were no monsters that harassed him after he opened the box.

The first item that popped out was a Gold equipment – a cloth armor for magic classes with decent attributes. Lu Li packed it away and continued to loot.

Ding!

A Stone!

Lu Li immediately began to pay attention as soon as he heard the sound effect. Hopefully, it wouldn’t be a Fortified Stone this time.

Equipment Level Requirement -5%!

Lu Li punched the air in joy. Something that he wanted had finally dropped.

He had heard that sunken ships would drop these gemstones during the early game, but he didn’t quite believe it. It only felt real after they were in his hands.

There were still eleven rooms untouched in the middle deck, like a personal treasure storage.

Under normal circumstances, it would be hard for such a place to remain secret. Normal players couldn’t explore this place alone and once the guilds heard about it, there would be a mad rush to gain control of it. However, it would be almost impossible for anyone to horde this entire ship to themselves.

Amongst the twelve rooms, it would be difficult enough for one party to have two rooms to themselves.

Besides the stone, Lu Li also discovered a diary.

The diary was still readable despite being soaked in the water.

This wasn’t a valuable item, but if you tossed it into an Auction, players who liked to collect things might take interest in it.

If you were lucky, you might be able to pick up a quest from reading the diary.

Lu Li was one who enjoyed collecting books, so he could add this to his own personal shelf.

He flipped through the first two pages and read them. Jenny was a Mage indeed, but quite an average one. Her job was to make fresh water and could help with monsters and pirates every now and then.

Lu Li finished off two level 55 elite monsters and opened the door to the second Room.

Sailor Chan’Risban’s Storage Box.

Lu Li didn’t want to gamble on his own luck. He wasn’t sure if a monster would appear from the box, so he prepared himself for battle.

Before the box was even fully opened, black mist had already begun to spill out and Lu Li immediately went into Stealth to use Cheapshot.

The monster’s reaction couldn’t be faster than his.

Lu Li was relieved when he saw its health bar – it had around 25,000 health points. At the very most, it would be a strong elite monster, but not a semi-boss.

However, he began to realize that although the twelve rooms were tempting, how many could he actually afford to open?

Lu Li wasn’t prepared to die for the sake of treasure; he wasn’t the same poor boy from his previous life. His Experience bar at this point were very precious and a single piece of equipment of his was enough for an average person to live a year without any worries.

Sailor Chan’Risban wasn’t hard to kill; Lu Li dealt with him at the cost of half his health.

He defeated the defending monster and began to loot the items in anticipation. At this point, he was incredibly jealous of Remnant Dream. If only she could be here too.

Sailor Chan’Risban’s Sword – a Dark Gold single-handed sword that wasn’t any less valuable than a gemstone.

The third room’s box was called Pack of the Nameless Old Sailor.

This old sailor had to be powerful to be in a better position than the last room owner.

Lu Li wasn’t sure if he could win the fight, but he didn’t like the idea of returning empty handed either.

Open!

Lu Li felt like he could fight a few rounds, even if it was a semi-boss.

Nothing?

There were no monsters this time. Lu Li let out a long sigh of relief that made a cloud of bubbles in the water.

It was better that there were no monsters; he just needed to loot for items.

It was just hard to tell if the Nameless Old Sailor would drop anything valuable.
