Xi Xue went silent all the time. The cave was somehow peaceful until one could hear each other heartbeat. There’s no sound in the cave beside from Bíng Huo’s steady breath.
Once in a while, one would hear a beast roar or the sound of flying-type beast flapped its wings, but that’s it.
The silence surrounding the little vampire made the guy fidgeted. His blood cave, his house before was also silent but it wasn’t this quiet.
’Uhhh when will she finish??’ Xi Xue glanced at Bíng Huo face from time to time until 30 minutes passed by and Bíng Huo finished her contract.
! Finally!
“Are you done?” Xi Xue instantly asked. His eyes were gleaming with hope.
’Since this girl is noisy, the cave won’t be silent.’ Xi Xue rubbed his hands excitedly.
“Ah, yeah. I’m done.” Bíng Huo nodded. “Huffft…that was quite hard!” Bíng Huo let out a big sigh and stretched. She slowly stood up and looked at Xi Xue.
“Fellow Daoist, thank you for your help.” She cupped her hands together and bowed. “Without your help, I won’t get such a nice high-ranked beast.” She added.
Xi Xue awkwardly scratched his cheek and waved his hand. “No worries. It was my fault you lost your prey so yeah…”
He didn’t know why but his heart beats fast. But it wasn’t springtime yet. Not the time to mate!
Seeing Xi Xue somehow became silent, Bíng Huo squinted her eyes. She paused for a few seconds before speaking, “Hey, so…should we go back to the city?”
The sun already set and it would be dangerous to cross the forest at this time but…
’I can’t stay a night with a man I barely know, ah!’ Bíng Huo bit her lips. Even though Xi Xue won’t know she was actually a girl, she still felt reluctant.
“Do you want to go back now?” Xi Xue tilted his head.

Even though she had a high-ranked beast with her, walking around the forest at night was still going to be dangerous.
“How about we stay a night here? I don’t suggest you go out at night.” Xi Xue leaned to the cave wall and put both of his arms behind his back, acting as a cushion.
Bíng Huo’s breath stilled. ’That’s certainly the safest idea but…’
“Uh…I never sleep with a stranger before.” Bíng Huo laughed dryly. “I don’t think I can sleep tight but-”
“Don’t worry, I don’t bite.” Xi Xue laughed, showing his cute little fangs.
Seeing Bíng Huo, that wild rascal before turned into a meek rabbit at night, Xi Xue couldn’t resist the temptation to tease her.
“W-what? Eat me??” Bíng Huo’s face flushed red. Her mind instantly went toward something immoral.
’This guy is he a gay??’ Bíng Huo eyes flickered. She suddenly got goosebumps thinking that her appearance right now was a guy.
“You…are you gay?” Bíng Huo suddenly asked, looking innocent to the bone.
“Pfff!” Xi Xue choked on his own saliva. He hurriedly patted his chest as tears gathered at the corner of his eyes.
“What did you say? Me, gay? How the f*ck-”
“Ah, no, no. Sorry, I misunderstood!” Bíng Huo hurriedly apologized. “You said you won’t eat me so I thought…” The girl’s face turned red as she explained.
Xi Xue blinked slowly. The guy stared at Bíng Huo’s apple-like face and suddenly felt the need to suck blood.
“I’m going out for a bit. I’ll catch something for dinner.” Xi Xue abruptly stood up. “Don’t go out. Keep close to your owl.” Xi Xue looked at Bíng Huo with his brown eyes shining.
For a second, it turned blood red and Bíng Huo couldn’t help but flinch.
“O-okay.” The girl nodded like a chicken packing for food.
’Is it just my imagination that Xi Xue eyes turned red for a second?’ Bíng Huo shifted closer to her beast and hide under its wings.
A second ago, the atmosphere in the cave turned suffocating but it lasts only for a second or so.

Bíng Huo could only bite her nail as she watched Xi Xue vanished into the dark night.
At this time, Xi Xue already started to hunt some lower-ranked beast. He caught a chicken with his bare hand.

The sound of someone sucking something echoed in the forest.

“Pwah! Low-quality isn’t so delicious.” Xi Xue retracted his mouth and spat. The young man stuck out his tongue and squinted.
Blood dripped down from his lips and he subconsciously licked it before frowning againn.
He usually got high-quality blood at the higher realm. Now he got a low-quality one….
’This isn’t satisfying.’ Xi Xue suddenly broke the chicken’s head, severing it from the neck and tossed it away.
He then plucked the grass around him and covered the chicken with it, before bringing the ’prey’ to the cave.
’I need a better quality blood.’
