Throughout the dance, Fen Wén could only bite her lips and endured. She wanted to look away from those two but she just couldn’t.
The couple in front of her was too dazzling to be ignored.
Not knowing Fen Wén’s thought, Mao Mao was currently settling down the issue with Tian Rong.
“What you said is right.” The young man paused, “I will annul this engagement with you.”
That was really what he intended to do after all.
Tian Rong only flashed a dry smile followed with a sigh. “I get it, your excellency. But my father…” Tian Rong’s eyes shook, the girl became silent afterwards.
She knew that her father won’t allow Mao Mao to annul the engagement especially when they have danced in front of so many people like now.
“I’ll find a solution. I’ll talk to his majesty.” Mao Mao stuck to his determination to annul the engagement.
Now he had fully realized his feeling for Fen Wén, someone who’s always beside him…might as well propose an engagement with her.
“Alright, I’ll leave it to your excellency.” Tian Rong nodded. The girl didn’t show even a hint of sadness in her ruby eyes.
Mao Mao couldn’t help but comment, Why are you so cooperative?” The young man tightened his grip on Tian Rong’s hand.
“You know that having your engagement annulled will tarnish your name, no?” Mao Mao raised one of his eyebrows.
Not to mention Tian Rong was someone from a prestigious family. If the royal family annulled the engagement, it would shame her greatly.
Tian Rong shrugged, “What else I can do? Father is just too ambitious.”
She meant that she was prepared to receive the backlash.
“…I’ll introduce you to my friend. Maybe that way you can still save up your dignity.” Mao Mao murmured as the image of Qi Tou, that seven-headed snake emerged in his mind.
Qi Tou was only a sacred beast but recently he became the headmaster of the kingdom’s most renowned academy. That position was enough to match the daughter of the finance minister.
Seeing Mao Mao was so serious to match her with his friend, Tian Rong couldn’t help but giggle.
“Thank you in advance, your excellency.” Tian Rong lowered her head a bit as she waited until the dance ended.
While the couple was discussing things, on the other hand, the royals watching them were also in a conversation.
“Hey, what’s your name?” The prince of the Phoenix kingdom suddenly asked Long An Lie who was sitting quite far from his seat.
Startled, the 10-year-old girl almost spurts the tea she was drinking. Still, with a calm and collected face, the girl turned around and smiled, “My name is Long An Lie, your highness.”
Everyone could only see the girl’s stiff smile but Long Ye Sí could see his sister’s dragon tail was hitting the seat several times.

Seeing his sister snapped, Long Ye Sí silently grinned as he tugged on the girl’s sleeve. “Calm down.” The boy whispered, trying to control his sister even though inside he wished his sister would just go wild.
