What if Yao Tang changed her mind?
President Tan glanced over at Elder Xu’s scheming expression, and he knew exactly what the man was thinking.
After all, he had the same idea before.
He was familiar with that expression.
President Tan scowled.
Deliberately raising his voice, he waved his hand. “My good student, why don’t we go?” he offered. “I have something to tell you.”
She nodded in agreement.
Only then did his mood improve.
Turning around, President Tan smiled. “Then, Elder Xu, we must head out first.” There was a certain smugness in his tone. “My student and I are leaving first. Thank you for taking care of her.”
Hearing the man call her his student, Elder Xu’s face darkened.
If he had found Yao Tang first, then perhaps he wouldn’t have been so involved!
Moreover, President Tan actually allowed such a genius to participate in the assessment. Shouldn’t he have directly reported this prodigy to the cabinet?
He was obviously hiding her!
Thinking of this, Elder Xu didn’t want to bother with him any longer. He waved his hand. “Go on.”
Then, he turned to Yao Tang. His face turned as soft as a flower.
“Tangtang, if you need anything, all you have to do is look for me, all right? I’ll make sure that the Cabinet will handle all the formalities. If you have any questions or there are things you may not understand, feel free to ask me, all right?”
Before Yao Tang could reply, President Tan butted in, “Of course. However, if my student encounters any problems, I’m sure I’ll be able to handle them. There’s no need to trouble you.”
His face was filled with smiles and sincerity.
However, there was something about his mocking tone that made Elder Xu’s face darken once again.
If this man wasn’t an esteemed member of the Music Association, he would’ve already hired someone to beat him in the sack to see if he’d have any arrogance left!
However, he could only endure the man’s arrogance for now.
Not only was he the President of the Music Association branch in City A, but he was also Yao Tang’s teacher—the only teacher she ever acknowledged.
As they left, Elder Xu sighed and went back into his car.
As the doors closed, he made a phone call.
“Master, I’ve found a good seedling—an absolute prodigy,” he said excitedly.
“I’ve already tested her too. It’s so hard to come by a genius like her. Her talent is beyond imagination…in fact, only one person could ever be compared to her talents..”
He took a deep breath.
Elder Xu had actually called Yao Tang over to test her talents.
And the results he had received were so surprising!
She really was the student the Cabinet had been looking for so long.
In fact, he even believed that the young woman wasn’t even utilizing the entirety of her talent. She was only using a fraction of it.
After hearing these words, the person on the other end of the line was also quite surprised.
He knew that Elder Xu wasn’t the type of man who was easily impressed. Ordinary people wouldn’t have made him this excited unless he had really come across a genius.
This prodigy must’ve really been that outstanding for Elder Xu to tell him about it.
Originally, Elder Xu was only passing through City A. He didn’t really expect to meet such a prodigy. Perhaps, it really was fate.
“Alright. When you have the time, bring her to me. I want to see how great she really is to have impressed someone like you.”
There was a smile playing on both their lips.
The number of new recruits for the cabinet was dwindling. In fact, it was rare to meet someone who’d reached their high standards.
It had been two and a half years since they had recruited anyone.
What made it worse was that the people that they had recruited weren’t considered outstanding, but rather, have the potential to be outstanding.
As such, the man on the other line was also curious to see who this person Elder Xu was praising.
Elder Xu quickly nodded.
“Don’t worry, I’ll bring her back as soon as possible. I can already tell that this student will be the most talented musician the Association will have in a hundred years. She could even be comparable to…her.”
Elder Xu looked out the window and sighed.
If Yao Tang had just been born a bit earlier, then she might’ve been able to catch up with the other elite players. What a pity.
