The maid was actually cleaning one of the rooms located on the second floor. As such, she had also witnessed the situation in the guestroom when the injured person claimed to be the young master’s partner.
She even tried to use her pitiful appearance to sway him.
However, what made the maid even more furious was how desperate she was in ruining the Young Master’s reputation all for her selfish gain.
Just the thought of this was enough to make her grit her teeth.
Now that the girl’s mother had appeared, she thought that this entire matter would blow over. How was she supposed to know that the old woman would simply talk about Young Master Yang as if he was theirs?
This was too much!
They were too arrogant!
After hearing the maid’s words, Qin Man’s face flushed in anger.
“What do you mean?” she demanded. “My daughter is your Young Master’s legitimate bride-to be! Now that she’s injured, you’re telling me that someone else wants to take her position?”
“Some might say it’s the other way around,” the maid said bitterly.
Qin Man’s eyes widened. “What did you say?”
“Since you’ve already arrived, the Yang Family would like to let you know that we’ve paid for any related treatment regarding your daughter. As I still have other work arrangements, I have to head back. Thank you for your time.”
The maid didn’t say anything else. Instead, she turned around to leave.
“Wait! I’m not done with you!”
However, before Qin Man could run after her, a nurse already approached her. “Are you the patient’s mother?” she said coldly. “This surgery is critical. It’s best that you don’t make such a fuss if you don’t want to distract our doctor.”
The older lady’s face turned ashen.
She froze, not chasing after the maid. After all, the nurse was right. Ranran was still inside the operating room. She couldn’t leave now.
Qin Man simply regarded the nurse coldly, but she didn’t say a word.
When Ranran wakes up, she’d remember everything. They would then know the truth of this matter.
“Then how is my daughter’s condition now? How is it so serious that she’d need surgery?”
The nurse glanced at her in surprise.
This woman had fought with the others the second she had come over. Even then, she still didn’t know the extent of her daughter’s injuries.
Wasn’t she just irresponsible?
Shouldn’t she be more concerned about her daughter’s condition?
The nurse glanced at Qin Man from head to toe before responding, “The results of the scan showed that her foot has been fractured. However, as she had been sent to the hospital so late, the injury worsened. We can only treat it with surgery.”
“A fracture?”
Her eyes widened. “If we perform the surgery, will the foot be able to fully recover?”
“I’m not sure about that yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as the surgery is over.”
With no other choice, Qin Man had to wait for torturously long hours. She sat on the bench, glancing at the door every second, wondering what was taking them so long.
After around an hour or so, the door slowly opened and a man with a white coat stepped out of the operating room.
She didn’t waste any time as she walked up to him.
“Hello, doctor, I am Yao Ran’s mother. About her current condition with her foot, would she be able to fully recover?”
“Although she has undergone treatment, she was sent here quite late. The patient was still using her foot even after it had been injured. If she recovers well, then she’d be able to regain 70-80% of her foot’s function, and I believe physical therapy might be able to improve it even further.”
“Only 70-80%?”
Qin Man cried in surprise.
“If she only recovers to that percentage, wouldn’t she start to limp? Wouldn’t she be no different from a cripple?”
She almost felt as if she was about to faint.
