“But, sir,” the woman continued to protest, unsure of what else to do. “My boss…you saved her and…”
She obviously had good intentions, wanting to protect her boss and her friend. Despite this, Cheng Yan still wouldn’t budge.
There was a moment of pause before Yao Tang turned to the side. “Let’s head back to the car first.”
Her bodyguard took one look at her before calling for the car to drive over. Only when the car arrived did she get onto the front seat.
Cheng Yan, however, was silent the entire time.
His heart was too busy throbbing in his chest.
He was leaning onto Yao Tang, trying to restrain himself from putting his entire weight on her. Despite being a bit weak, he continued to trudge along as he gazed up at the young woman.
From this angle, he couldn’t help but admire her long eyelashes and blushed cheeks. He could almost smell her sweet fragrance practically wafting from her skin.
Before long, she had already helped him into the car.
“Miss,” the bodyguard stated as soon as they were seated. “There’s a first-aid kit hidden under the car seat. Let’s treat his wound first.”
It was best that they treat his wounds to avoid any unnecessary infection or inflammation.
“Miss, why don’t I switch seats with you?” One of her female bodyguards extended her hand. “I’ll treat his wound now.”
However, before she could say anything in reply, Cheng Yan interrupted cooly, “There’s no need for that.”
Yao Tang pursed her lips.
“It’s just a small wound, I’ll be fine,” he added quickly.
However, the young woman paid no heed to his words. Instead, she peered through the window before glancing at him. “Turn around and pull your shirt down.”
“What?”
Cheng Yan furrowed his eyebrows.
However, upon seeing the seriousness and coldness in her eyes, he couldn’t help but feel a little embarrassed over his confusion. “I—Yao Tang—”
Only when he moved to the side did Yao Tang see that the fabric over his shoulders was drenched with blood.
It seemed that his wounds were really serious.
Fortunately, the flowerpot didn’t hit him in the head. Otherwise, he’d be in more trouble. Her gaze darkened.
“Stay there.”
Cheng Yan tilted his head, but he did follow her instructions this time around. His calm gaze followed her hand movements, awaiting her next action.
The woman sitting in the driver’s seat also glanced back, interested as to what might happen next.
“Do you have a knife?” She glanced at the other bodyguard sitting beside her.
“Yes, Madame.”
Yao Tang grabbed the hilt of the short blade before slashing it over Cheng Yan’s clothes.
The loud rip echoed across the car, and the fabric fell onto the leather seat.
The artificial light flickered, revealing the bluish wounds on his back. There were several cuts along his skin probably from the shards of the flower pot when it had cracked.
Her fingers trailed over the long cut, as her forehead creased together.
“Get me my first-aid kit.”
“Yes, Madame.” The woman immediately handed her the first-aid kit, and Yao Tang went straight to work.
The bodyguard sitting in the driver’s seat couldn’t help but gaze at them in surprise.
Who’d have thought that her boss would be knowledgeable in treating these types of injuries?
Having been a frontline bodyguard for quite some time, she had always been used to getting injured in combat. It’s why she was also used to treating her wounds.
At first, she had assumed that Yao Tang was familiar with treating small cuts and bruises, but from the way she was moving—it was as if she was a physician treating her patient!
It was intriguing!
Before long, Yao Tang finally finished treating the wound on Cheng Yan’s shoulder. Suddenly, a thought occurred in her mind before she quickly rummaged through her bag.
The woman was about to say that there were ointments in the first-aid kit for external application, but what happened next surprised her.
Yao Tang seemed to have pulled a bottle of medicine from her own bag. It seemed to be carrying some brown powder. However, no one could see clearly its contents.
She casually opened the bottle and sprinkled the powder over his body.
“Miss,” the woman couldn’t help but speak up. “What is the medicine used for?”
“To stop the bleeding.”
Was she some sort of doctor?
However, after thinking for a moment, they couldn’t help but be wary of the medication bottle. Wasn’t the ointment in the first-aid kit more effective than the one Yao Tang was holding?
But it wasn’t as if they could do anything anymore, given that she had already sprinkled it over.
The woman took a deep breath. “Miss, you can bandage it now,” she reminded. “Otherwise, he might continue to bleed.”
