“You brat, what are you sighing for?”
As Tan Jian was inevitably consumed by his thoughts, President Tan thumped him on the head. His expression hardened.
Just the thought of his son like this was enough to make him furious.
In his eyes, his son was useless!
If his son was even half as good as Yao Tang, then he wouldn’t have to worry about having a successor. He’d stop his search and instead focus on training him.

He was so furious that he could feel his beard already poking out at the end. He wanted to stomp over to No. 1 High School and teach that man a lesson. “If I had known he was going to do this,” he murmured angrily. “What was that old man thinking?”

“We also have a Confucius Statue in our Association. We can pray for a smooth college entrance examination there. Why do you have to hike up all the way up there? If I had known, I would’ve opened the association up for all of you.” he murmured.
Only the members of the Music Association were allowed to enter the hall. Outsiders were barred from entry.
However, for Yao Tang’s safety, he decided to hand this privilege to all No. 1 High School students.
In the end, he stated, “But you don’t have to bring this up. I’m more familiar with Principal Kong’s senior anyway. Elder Guan will handle this.”
As soon as she heard his name, Yao Tang came back to her senses.
The last thing she wanted was for President Tan to bring Elder Guanin. If he came, then he’d certainly be able to search for clues about her.
If he knew that she was here, then things wouldn’t end well.

Upon hearing her blunt words, President Tan sighed deeply before nodding his head. Fine.
If she really didn’t want him to bring it up, then he wouldn’t. He might as well change the topic.
He cleared his throat a couple of times before saying, “The old man’s pressuring me over the weeks about you visiting the Inner Pavilion—the Cabinet in Jing City. You’ll have to travel by plane to get there. I’m not sure if you know about the invitation, so I came to tell you.”
Who wouldn’t like to visit the Inner Pavilion?
Tan Jian, who was beside him, resisted the urge to roll his eyes.
It was obvious that his father wasn’t here on any official business. He just wanted to see whether or not Yao Tang was injured. Couldn’t he tell her about this trip over the phone?
The old man had other intentions in mind.
But he pretended not to know a thing.
When President Tan noticed his son’s questioning gaze, he snapped, “You stinking brat! Focus on your drink.”
Then, he turned to Yao Tang as a soft smile spread across his lips. “Well, what do you think? When do you want to go?” he asked. “If you’re able to go early, I might be able to accompany you.”
His change in attitude was so fast that even Yao Yan couldn’t help but be stunned.
Tan Jian looked up. “If you’re free next month, I’ll be able to accompany you too,” he offered.
“Shh, child, the adults are talking!” the old man snapped once more.
Tan Jian took one glance at Yao Tang, who wasn’t even off-age yet, before taking a deep breath. Without any more side comments, he shut his mouth.
Her eyes lit up as she carefully glanced at Yao Yan.
If she could leave now, then she could avoid her brother’s questions. It would be a good idea.
“I’m free this week, so I can go when I have the time.”
“Then how about I make some preparations and pick you up in a few days?”
“Or you can make these preparations now and we can leave right away?”
It’s best to leave now.
“Tonight?”
President Tan thought about it for a moment. It wouldn’t be impossible to make some last-minute adjustments. However, the flight would take off early the next day, so that meant he wouldn’t be able to get enough sleep.
