When they heard this, they all nodded in affirmation.
“You’re right. I’m sure she wanted us to get off our medication.”
“She even cared enough to text us—that means she remembered us well in her heart. It’s not like she’s forgotten to give us our medication.”
“Then we should work even harder! We can’t let her down.”
They didn’t know that Yao Tang had really forgotten to give them their medication. It’s just that they turned it into a great plan to eliminate their dependency on the pills.
That day, they worked even harder to prove that they could reach her expectations.
Soon, a day had finally passed. On the dark alleyway were Qin Jing and Yao Tang.
They planned on checking up on Grandma Xu while also treating her illness.
However, as they turned into the alley, they didn’t see Xu Xuan’s slim figure waiting for them. Instead, they were met with wet pavements and gravelly roadsides.
They waited at the entrance for quite a while before Qin Jing called her up.
She picked the call up after a while.
Qin Jing furrowed her eyebrows. She could hear some banging noises echoing from the background before Xu Xuan’s anxious voice came to life, “Hello? Hello?”
“Xu Xuan, are you at home?”
Only then did the young student blink in surprise as she glanced at the calendar. That’s right. Today was the day they were supposed to treat her grandmother.
“I’m sorry,” she apologized quickly. “I forgot we were supposed to treat her—it’s just…something happened at home so I wasn’t able to tell you. I…I can’t be there. I’m sorry.”
Without another word, she hung up.
Qin Jing furrowed her eyebrows, glancing over at Yao Tang. “Something came up, so we might have to reschedule.”
“Okay.” She shrugged and nodded.
The two of them headed back to her house where they started reviewing in Yao Tang’s room. Qin Jing continued with her set of revision papers, and they both worked in silence.
Time passed very quickly, and before they knew it, it was finally time for the monthly exam.
However, even if it was the day of the exam, Yan Yu and the others still hadn’t returned, which surprised everyone.
They were really anticipating that the group would come back today.
As they headed to the examination room to prepare for the exam, they still saw no sight of Yan Yu and his group of friends.
It really looked like they weren’t coming.

What they didn’t expect for the group to have just arrived late.
They entered the examination room just when the invigilator was about to pass by their seats.
The other students frowned in disappointment, while those from Class 20 smiled in excitement. What were they doing here? Weren’t they afraid that they’d pull their other classmates down?
What they didn’t expect was for them to immediately jump from page to page, flipping through the questions as if they were nothing more than ABCs.
Within around an hour they had already reached the last few pages.
And after half an hour, they already handed in their papers one after the other.
The people in the examination room gazed in shock. The pressure became far too real.
How could they be this fast?
They were even late compared to them!
Maybe they had guessed the answers? They all exchanged glances. Even then, they still couldn’t help but be a bit nervous.
This was a Chinese Language examination.
Even if they were fast, they still needed to read the questions one by one. They even needed to finish the composition.
However, with their calm and strong temperament, the others couldn’t help but be convinced that they really knew what they were doing.
As soon as they handed in their exam papers, they shook their hands and returned to their thoughts.
Previously, Yao Tang always scored zero marks. Now, she was at the top of her class.
She was perfect in every test she had taken.
They didn’t think it was strange that the others would’ve followed suit.
Yao Tang, who had handed in her test early, went to the roof and sneezed.
