While Yao Ran was speaking with another coach, Yao Yanbrought Yao Tangback to their home. A smile was painted across his face as he glanced back at her.
“Mom and Dad have been looking at different properties since you came, and they finally bought this one. The place is very close to school, so it would be convenient for you. I thought of bringing you here to surprise them.”
He rubbed the back of his neck. “We know that you’ve been staying at your own place during the holidays, but we’re hoping that you could stay with us. That way, we’d feel more at ease, and mom’s been waiting to cook for you too.”
“Hm.”
“Tangtang, you’re still young, so try to avoid older people—older men in particular. They may not have your best interest in mind. Who knows what they’d do if you’re alone?”
Yao Yan couldn’t help but think back to the time he saw that strange man in the restaurant. A sharp light flashed across his eyes, and he shook his head.
“I’ll be careful.”
She seemed to be quite obedient, but as to whether or not she’d listen to him, he wasn’t sure about that.
Perhaps, whenever he’d have the time, he’d come to pick his sister up from school himself. Maybe then, no strange person would easily come in contact with her. That was a better alternative, right?
Soon, the two of them finally arrived.
The villa was quite beautiful. It was definitely much larger than the previous house they had stayed in, and there were quite a lot of rooms. As soon as they entered, Yao Tang couldn’t help but admire the small chandeliers and European finishing.
“Dad still hasn’t arrived yet,” he murmured. “Why don’t I show you to your room first?”
He brought her up the stairs to the second floor before leading her to a large door frame. His smile widened as he slowly opened the door.
Yao Tang was stunned.
The layout of the room was very different. It was obvious that they had put in a lot of effort in designing the room. While the colors were slightly cooler, the interiors still had the same warm and homey vibe that the rest had.
Her previous room looked like it belonged to a little girl than hers, given all the pink shades.
This room, however, looked quite classic. It appeared luxurious with its beautiful headboard and small chandelier, but the design appeared more subtle—just like what she would’ve wanted.
It was beautiful!
The Yao Family had redesigned the room after they got to know Yao Tanga bit better. They wanted to make it a surprise, so they consulted with an interior designer themselves.
A warm feeling rose in her chest and she smiled.
“Thank you.”
Yao Yan waved his hand. “We’re a family now, remember?” he reminded. “You don’t have to say thank you for simple things like this!”
“Tangtang, I didn’t know you’re here!”
Just then, Jiang Wan appeared from the kitchen just as they had gone down the steps. She seemed to be holding a small bag in her hands.
Her eyes widened in surprise upon seeing her daughter. She didn’t think that Yao Tang would be arriving here today, but as soon as she saw Yao Yan, she knew who had brought her here.
“The room is not fully furnished yet. Why did you bring her here?”
“I happened to be free this afternoon, so I thought of bringing her here.” He smiled. “I thought that we could have dinner together as a family.”
“Well, it’s a good thing I bought a few more dishes.” Jiang Wan chuckled. “You actually came at the right time. Have you seen the new layout of your room? If you feel like changing it, feel free to tell me, okay? We can redecorate it together.”
Yao Tang’s smile widened. “I actually love the room.”
“That’s great, dear!” Jiang Wan sighed in relief. “I was afraid that you wouldn’t like it. If you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to tell me, alright?”
“I will.”
Jiang Wan placed the bags on the table and pulled Yao Tangover to talk about the new furniture she was thinking of buying for her. Yao Tangwould nod from time to time, her eyes wide with happiness.
They really looked like they were family.
Yao Yan would also share his thoughts from time to time, nodding along with his suggestion.
Soon, Yao Rong finally returned home. When he opened the door and went up the stairs, he was surprised to see Yao Tang.
“Tangtang, you’re here!”
