Yao Ran had never acted this rashly before. In their eyes, she had always been so gentle, so the way she held the boy’s phone was beyond all their imagination.
Seeing her like this, Yang Ming suppressed the urge to flinch in embarrassment.

This was ridiculous!
Unfortunately, there was no cure for the simmering regret he felt. Under the watchful eyes of many, he was practically bound to her for life.
However, Yao Ran hadn’t been able to grab the phone completely. The boy was still able to press the confirm button, which would reveal all their scores.
Within that very second, he had been able to scroll down to her name.

His eyes widened. “She scored zero points.”
His surprised voice echoed across the hall.
Everyone fell silent. They didn’t expect that her score would be this low. The guests quickly scrambled toward the boy, glancing over the mother-and-daughter pair in disbelief.
“Did he read it wrong?”
“It can’t be!”
“But she’s always been such an outstanding student.”
“Are you sure he didn’t make a mistake?”
“Madam Yao, is this true?”
Everyone furrowed their eyebrows.
Qin Man’s face was flushed with anger and embarrassment, not know where else to look. It was as if somebody had thrown her to the wolves, and she was at a loss for words.
Everyone fell silent.
If it had really been a mistake, the woman would’ve outspokenly clarified the situation and sued everyone for slandering her daughter. She wouldn’t allow herself to be placed in such an awkward situation.

This meant that Yao Ran really did score a zero in the Math Olympiad.
They all couldn’t help but shake their heads in disappointment.
Qin Man had always bragged about how great her daughter was. But now, it seemed that her daughter had completely fallen short.
The irony!
Had she only been bragging about her daughter all this time? Had she been lying about her achievements?
Something shifted in their gazes as they stared at them in ridicule.
Qin Man felt her heart skip a beat.
Yao Ran had never worried her this much.
She had used to be so proud of her, but now, Yao Ran made her and the entire Yao Family a laughing stock.

“My son had participated in the Math Olympiad as well,” the lady said, raising her head. “The An Family has been paying close attention to the competition, and I’ve never heard them register scores incorrectly before.”
This meant that the results could not be wrong.
“I also didn’t check wrongly!” The boy flushed. “I really did check Yao Ran’s score. Here’s her info! A student from No. 1 High School in A City. Even the class section matches!”
Qin Man gritted her teeth.
If there was no mistake, then wouldn’t that mean that Yao Ran’s results were really zero?
