After he got hit in the butt by his grandpa in front of Qiao Qing, Jun Yexuan’s handsome face turned bright red, “Grandpa!”
“What is it? You are still aware that I am your grandpa? Who is ever that skeptical towards their grandpa?!” Yin Lei’s eyes were wide as he shouted.
This was the first time Jun Yexuan has ever seen Yin Lei behave like this. He was little flustered.
Ever since he was born, he knew that he was highly hated. Even his own mother hated him.
From not knowing anything to starting to retain memories, nobody knew how much he craved familial ties.
How much he wished that everything that was happening was true. How much he wished that his own illness was not related to his grandfather.
But as he began to remember some of the scenes from his past, Jun Yexuan closed his eyes and tried to stop thinking.
This was the first time Qiao Qing has ever seen Jun Yexuan act like this. She felt like her heart strings were being pulled at and it hurt.
When Jun Yexuan reopened his eyes, his eyes were clear of emotions. The sadness that surrounded him had evaporated.
“I was too worried for nothing. Grandpa, let’s go.”
Once he took a step, Qiao Qing pulled on his sleeves.
She stared at him in silence.
After being together for so long, Jun Yexuan knew that Qiao Qing was worried.
He smiled and patted her head, “I’m okay.”
Yin Lei exploded again, “He’s my own grandson! Why would I hurt him?! Plus, look at my age. You think I can hurt him if we fight?!”
Jun Yexuan frowned, “Grandpa!”
Yin Lei stopped right away.
Mu Jinghang grinned, “Third brother, I’ll go with you.”
He was worried that Yin Lei would refuse but he agreed, “You can follow us. It’ll save that girl some worry.”
He then started to head upstairs, “Xu, ask someone to prepare a room for that girl and her brother. Plus, ask someone to drop Houshang home.”
Xu Mian said, “Yes, sir.”
After Yin Lei and the group went upstairs, Xu Mian first ordered a maid to clean up the rooms before asking a royal guard to drop off Xia Houshang.
Before the royal guard could accept the orders, Xia Houshang said, “There’s no need to trouble you. I drove here myself.”
She then started to walk towards the door. When she walked by Qiao Qing, she asked, “Ms. Qiao, you really don’t want me to take care of Jun Yexuan’s illness?”
Qiao Qing didn’t speak. Well, more like she ignored her.
Xia Houshang wasn’t angry at that and instead, grinned, “Ms. Qiao, if you can actually save him, then all is well. But you cannot save him, and you cannot even figure out what’s causing him to be sick. You refuse to let others treat him, how laughable. Do you really love him or are you simply possessive?”
Without checking out how Qiao Qing would respond, she left.
Qi Yusen watched Xia Houshang leave with much disdain.
He pulled Qiao Qing into his arms, “Don’t worry, you can figure it out slowly.”
Qiao Qing hugged Qi Yusen back, “Brother, you didn’t know about his old illness?”
Qi Yusen shook his head, “I only knew what he did in the Capital Country. I don’t know what happened to him in the Country of Summer. He likely was infected here.”
Before Qiao Qing could respond, Xu Mian announced, “Young master Qi, Ms. Qiao, the rooms are ready. Please follow me.”

Upstairs in the study room.
Jun Yexuan got straight to the point after he closed the door, “Grandpa, what did you want by asking me to come here alone?”
