Before Leng Yan could speak, Qiao Qing said, “Wait a moment.”
Zhou Xin stopped and turned his head, “Ms. Qiao?”
Qiao Qing said, “We need the full set of evidence to get rid of them for good.”
Zhou Xin asked, “What do you mean by that?”
Qiao Qing, “A DNA test.”
Zhou Xin froze, “For Leng Jie and his father?”
Qiao Qing responded, “A test for Leng Jie and his father, then a test for Leng Jie and Leng Yan. We should do them all.”
“B… But where do we find Leng Yan’s dad? Plus, how do we get them to do a test without freaking them out?”
Before Qiao Qing answered, Lang Yin had handed over a small box, “Miss, I figured this might be useful so I got them before you ordered me to.”
Everyone looked over and saw that there were two strokes of hair inside the box. Each stroke was tied together by an elastic. They were labeled, “Leng Jie, Wang Dazhu.”
Mu Jinghang chuckled, “How cute! He even labeled the hair! However, how did you pull out their hair? They didn’t notice?”
Lang Yin pursed his lips, “I was fast so they didn’t see.”
Mu Jinghang, “…”
Everyone else, “…”
Even thinking about it hurt.
But that family sucked the Leng family’s blood. That little amount of pain was nothing.
Qiao Qing was about to take the box when Leng Yan took it away.
“Qiao Qing, you’ve done enough for me. I can handle this.”
He then shoved the card full of cash back into Qiao Qing’s hand. His voice was a little bit provoking, as if he wasn’t going to take no for an answer.
“That mother and son are no longer a threat to me. You don’t need to worry about me going bankrupt anymore.”
Qiao Qing was speechless for a second. Then she said, “Then, let me give you the amount Leng Jie lost.”
Leng Yan pursed his lips, “Must you divide everything up so cleanly between us?”
Jun Yexuan narrowed his eyes and started to shoot cold arrows towards Leng Yan.
Leng Yan instantly realized he crossed the line and said instead, “Qingqing, you can do what you want.”
He then pulled off a few strands of his hair and called for a subordinate, “Go do a DNA test.”
“Yes, sir.”
Zhou Xin looked over to Qiao Qing with much appreciation, “Ms. Qiao, thank you for helping the young master!”
Qiao Qing didn’t speak.
Mu Jinghang was confused at this point, “Qingqing, how did you know to let Lang Yin follow Leng Jie around? You knew he wasn’t really a Leng?”
“No.” Qiao Qing said, “I just sent Leng Yin there to teach him a lesson so he can stop messing around. It was totally coincidental that Leng Yin saw that.”
Leng Yin nodded.
“What a coincidence!” Mu Jinghang exclaimed.
He then rubbed his chin, “I knew it. Leng Yan’s entire family has been faithful and are such sweet people. Leng Jie was so different from the rest of them. It’s because they never shared the same blood.”
“When I saw his father, I finally realized what dragons give birth to dragons, phoenixes give births to phoenixes, and rats’ sons know how to dig holes! One of them is an alcoholic, the other is a gambling addict. They’re related for sure!”
Nobody spoke but they all shared the same sentiment.
After their meal, everyone returned to their rooms.
Qiao Qing showered and was about to go to sleep when she received a text message.
“Come to my room.”
It was obvious who sent it.
After a moment of hesitation, Qiao Qing took off her robe and changed into her pajamas. She then left her room.
Jun Yexuan’s room wasn’t locked. Qiao Qing was able to walk right in after she turned the door knob.
