Yu Mo returned to the CEO office and saw Jun Yexuan was spinning around a pen and asked Lu Zhixun bluntly, “You wanted to meet me personally and you have now. So, have you thought about joining the Leng Corporation?”
Lu Zhixun almost choked at Jun Yexuan’s words. Then, casually, she asked, “I heard you have partnered up with third young master Jun and first young master Qi from the Capital Country. And you three came back to country L together?”
Jun Yexuan was silent for a while. He read over Lu Zhixun’s profile and knew she was from country Z.
He chose his response carefully, “We did agree to partner up but we didn’t come back together. After all, third young master Jun and first young master Qi took a trip to country Z.”
When Lu Zhixun heard him, she had to stop herself from asking her follow-up question of “Weren’t third young Jun and first young master Qi in country Z two weeks ago?”
So instead, she asked, “That means third young master Jun, first young master Qi, and Ms. Qiao are all staying with you?”
She posed it as a question but her tone was decisive.
When Lu Zhixun mentioned Qiao Qing, Jun Yexuan’s eyes narrowed, “Ms. Lu, you’re asking a little too much. This has nothing to do with you joining the Leng Corporation.”
Yu Mo cursed silently. Was he trying to recruit her or chase her away?
Why was he angry at the question?
She didn’t ask anything out of line.
Why was he so sensitive?
Lu Zhixun’s face froze at Jun Yexuan’s blunt comment. Luckily, the secretary came with the coffee and relieved the tension for her.
Normally, if “Leng Yan” treated her like this, she would’ve left.
But with her intention in mind, she stayed put and took a sip of her coffee.
Just then, another secretary entered with the carton of milk she purchased. When she passed it to Jun Yexuan, her expression was a little difficult to describe.
Jun Yexuan acted as if he could not sense others’ strange looks. He took a straw and stabbed it into the carton.
As he drank, he asked, “Ms. Lu, have you decided?”
Lu Zhixun said, “I can work for the Leng Corporation but I am missing an assistant.”
Jun Yexuan said, “Isn’t that girl beside you your assistant?”
Yu Mo’s heart once again dropped. She had such a simple ask, he should’ve just agreed to it.
Why was third young master Jun so harsh towards all the women who were not Qiao Qing?
Lu Zhixun shook her head, “She’s just a friend who’s here touring this country with me.”
Jun Yexuan nodded, “That’s fine. I can match all the benefits other companies may offer you.”
Yu Mo sighed in relief. That was the way to go.
Lu Zhixun didn’t immediately agree nor deny. She played with her cup and then curled up her lips, “CEO Leng, don’t be so hasty to agree. Just now, you said my questions are unrelated to whether or not I join this company. But to me, my questions are related.”
Jun Yexuan’s eyes narrowed more.
Lu Zhixun drank more coffee and lifted her head to look at Jun Yexuan, “I heard that third young master Jun’s girlfriend is very talented in multiple fields. She’s an expert in all fields – even making fragrances.”
She paused. In front of Jun Yexuan’s stern look, she continued, “I’m sure she is also very capable when it comes to architecture. In terms of compensation, I don’t ask for a lot. My only condition is that she becomes my assistant.”
“Don’t even think about it!” Jun Yexuan slammed the table and his handsome face darkened at once.
