He Wanqing said, “That voice… must be Luo Chen? Boys sure grow fast. It’s only been a few months and he’s already taller.”
Luo Chen smiled, “Yes, aunty. How come you are here? Ah right, you must be here for the Qi grandparents’ birthday.”
He Wanqing got angry at the mention of that, “I’m not going to that. I’m here to spend New Year’s with Qingqing.”
Luo Chen froze. However, he quickly realized that it must be because of how the Qi family recently adopted a girl.
“The Qi family doesn’t know about Qingqing, right? If they knew, they never would’ve adopted someone unrelated by blood. You guys are really not going to let Qingqing into the family? You’re really going to let the family spoil someone else?”
Mu Jinghang snorted, “Why are you asking so many questions? Of course, Qingqing should be introduced to the family. There are just a lot of moving parts here and we can’t explain everything in a short period of time.”
Qi Yuyang chimed in, “Exactly. You’re just a kid. Don’t worry about that!”
His gaze then froze for a second, “What are you holding?”
Luo Chen handed the gift box to Qi Yusen, “Isn’t today your birthday? This is your birthday gift. Also…”
Here, Luo Chen scratched his head in front of everyone, “Happy birthday.”
Qi Yusen listened to this and didn’t move.

Qi Yuyang asked in a confused tone, “Aren’t you Qingqing’s friend? You know my brother as well? Why are you giving him a gift?”

“He does?” Luo Chen asked, “I guessed it. I remember seeing the portrait he drew of Qingqing the first time I visited. I thought it was very professional despite the fact that he’s not a professional artist. So I figured he’s passionate about drawing.”
“That is true.” Qi Yuyang nodded, “Big brother’s dream was to be an artist. However, to be responsible for the family, he had to take on the CEO title at the Qi Corporation.”
“After all, out of all our brothers, only the big brother and the second brother are good at business dealings. Our second brother’s legs are not good so it’d be too hard for him to take that on. In the end, the big brother had to give up on his dreams and work for the family.”
“There’s nothing I had to give up.” Qi Yusen went to sit by Qiao Qing and patted her head, “I’m very fortunate to have made that decision. Not only did I get to support the Qi family, but I also got to gain the current position in this family. It’s because of all the influence I gained that I can do so much for Qingqing now.”
