Jun Yexuan smiled as he looked over to Lu Chimei. His voice was stern but kind, “Grandma, there’s a surprise waiting for me in the dining room isn’t there?”
Lu Chimei said, “What is it, you don’t dare to go?”
“Why wouldn’t I?” Jun Yexuan answered, “Don’t forget, I’m the one with power in this household.”
Then, he no longer paid any attention to Lu Chimei and instead, grabbed Qiao Qing’s hand tighter. He then went to the living room with Mu Jinghang.
The trio walked fast and it didn’t take long to create a gap between themselves and Lu Chimei.
After they passed a small fake mountain, Jun Yexuan hugged onto Qiao Qing and hid behind the decor.
Mu Jinghang rubbed his nose and retreated.
Jun Yexuan held onto Qiao Qing with his chin resting on her head.
“Can you not look into my background? When the time is right, I will tell you myself.”
Qiao Qing paused. She somehow could sense his fear.
Just then, she remembered what Qi Yusen once said.
“Yexuan is a boy with stories. I won’t tell you them right now in case it interferes with your decisions. When the time comes and you want to hear them, I’ll tell them to you.”
As she remembered that, she patted his head, “You don’t want me to know right now so I won’t ask. But don’t worry, I like you for who you are. It’s not because of your family or your background.”
Jun Yexuan’s heart quivered and he closed his eyes, “The Gods treat me well.”
The group went to the dining room. When they arrived, Jun Yexuan met the gaze of Jun Tianlin. They both narrowed their eyes.
There were people of all ages inside. When they came up to give gifts to Jun Yexuan, they all took the time to check out Qiao Qing.
Perhaps it was because Jun Yexuan had too much power, nobody commented.
Before long, Lu Chimei stepped inside and announced food was ready.
Jun Yexuan took the center of the table and had Qiao Qing sit on his left side. Mu Jinghang sat on the other side of Qiao Qing.
Jun Yexuan was about to announce the start of the feast when the sound of an engine overtook him.
Before long, Lou Yufei entered. She wore a leopard printed jacket and had a gift bag in hand.
“Brother Xuan!”
The moment Lou Yufei showed up, Jun Yexuan’s face dropped.
A girl from the dining table excitedly greeted her, “Feifei!”
Lou Yufei rubbed Jun Yitong’s head and straight-up walked to Jun Yexuan and handed him the gift, “Brother Xuan, happy birthday!”
Mu Jinghang peeked at Qiao Qing, whose head was down. He felt like his kidneys were hurting.
This dinner was no joke.
Jun Yexuan didn’t even acknowledge Lou Yufei and instead, looked over to Lu Chimei and Jun Tianlin, “Who allowed her to come inside?”
“Brother Xuan?” Lu Yufei’s extended arm froze, “You don’t welcome me? I skipped practice to come celebrate with you! I also spent a long time picking out the perfect gift for you!”
Jun Yexuan retracted his gaze and looked at Lou Yufei, “You’re not welcomed. I don’t need your gift. Get out.”
Jun Yitong interrupted, “Third brother, how can you talk to sister Feifei like that?! She’s my idol!”
Lou Yufei also appeared hurt. Just then, she noticed Qiao Qing and became dumbfounded, “What’s she doing here?”
Jun Yexuan looked up, “Why can’t my girlfriend be here?”
Lou Yufei’s eyes constricted, “You got a girlfriend?”
Jun Yexuan nodded, “I don’t want my girlfriend to get jealous. So, Ms. Lou, please take your gift and f*** off.”
