Qi Yusen said, “He went to practice. He’ll be here soon.”
Just then, Qi Yuyang returned in his racing uniform. He entered the dining room while holding onto a banquet of pink roses.
Mu Jinghang heard the commotion and looked over, “Talk of the devil. Where did those roses come from? Fans gave you those?”
“There are no fans allowed during practice, okay?” Qi Yuyang glared at him like he was an idiot. Then, he walked over to Qiao Qing and handed her the roses.
“I saw these on my way home and thought they were pretty. So I bought them for you. But, it looks like you’re still prettier.”
Qiao Qing took over the roses and her lips curved up, “Thank you.”
Qi Yuyang winked at her, “Say, ‘thank you, brother.’”
Mu Jinghang peeked at Jun Yexuan and as expected, his face was dark.
Qi Yusen also glared at Qi Yuyang, “Sit down and eat!”
Qi Yuyang rolled his eyes and took his seat.
“You’ve all heard Qingqing call you ‘brother’, but I haven’t! I even got to know Qingqing before my second brother!”
Qi Yusen glared at him again and changed the subject, “How was practice?”
Qi Yuyang said, “Same same. I’m steady at 390km/hr.”
Qi Yusen frowned a little as he debated over how he should feel about that.
Mu Jinghang asked, “This is prep for the international racing competition?”
Qi Yusen nodded, “Yes, next month.”
Mu Jinghang answered, “Then that’s a good speed. Why are you troubled?”
Qi Yusen answered, “There’s a competitor coming from country M who drives at 420km/hr. This is an international competition, which means he has to shoulder this country’s honor as well.”
Qi Yuyang took a bite of his dim sum and chewed it, “Isn’t Lou Yufei coming back soon? I heard that she once reached 427. Though it just happened once, she could compete against Fei Lai for number one.”
He thought of something and added, “Has anyone heard from the God of Racing?”
Mu Jinghang froze, “Who’s the God of Racing?”
“The person who won last time.” Qi Yuyang answered, “Back then, Fei Lai reached 410km/hr and was beat. Everyone was hopeless but along raced out a domestic racer who ended up placing number one.”
“Of course, placing number one doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a God of Racing. What made that person so special was that when people looked into him, they found out he only started practicing a year and a half before the competition.”
“Based on the speedometer used, his speed reached 974km/hr. Not only is that double the speed of other competitors, it’s also almost anti-physics. That person basically flew.”
“If it weren’t for the fact that they gave him the champion trophy, we all wouldn’t have believed that it happened.”
Mu Jinghang answered, “Then how come you didn’t ask him to stick around after?”
“Are you dumb? If we were able to find him, why would we be searching for him all over the world?” Qi Yuyang rolled his eyes, “His race car never stopped after reaching the finish line. By the time we found it, it was empty.”
“We looked through surveillance videos but because the car went so far, you can only see a shadow. The face is so blurred even his own parents wouldn’t recognize him.”
Mu Jinghang laughed, “Perhaps he’ll show up this time?”
Qi Yusen also chimed in then, “It’s true that we shouldn’t place all our hope on someone who may or may not show up. After all, it’s been two years and he’s nowhere to be found.”
“Qingqing, your porridge is practically in your nose!”
Qiao Qing heard Mu Jinghang and made a “huh” noise.
Mu Jinghang waved around his hand, “Why are you blanking out?”
