She harshly glared at the girl who asked her if she was getting paid. Without any more words, she tried to leave.
That girl was unforgiving and grabbed onto Yi Shiqiong’s arm, “Hey, don’t leave! Are you paying us or what? Say the word! I’ve lined up for two hours! You haven’t paid me and are glaring at me? Who does that?!”
The other hired actors all crowded around her as well and were all shouting to be paid.
“I didn’t bring cash. You guys go ask whoever hired you!” Yi Shiqiong was being shoved around and she was going insane from it.
She stared at the line and wondered if there were any real fans of hers at all?
Why weren’t they helping her out? Why were they just watching her get pushed around?
Just as she wondered, someone from her line threw down her book, “Whatever. Looks like she’s not going to pay us.”
Someone else said, “I can’t believe the author I once liked is so humiliating. I liked her books originally, but she paid for actors to show up at her events? Asked her professor to attack another author? What kind of poor qualities does she have?! I’m no longer a fan!”
Then, she threw down her book and walked away as well.
A lot of people were disappointed by her and left after they threw away their book.
Others started to swing around their books and laughed, “I’m staying here for the drama! Hahaha, how fun!”
Yi Shiqiong watched all this and wanted to puke out blood.
Just then, the MC walked up to her and shouted after a girl who just threw down her book, “The trash can is right here. Friends, let’s not throw trash all over the place. We need to be environmentally friendly!”
Everyone laughed out loud yet again.
Yi Shiqiong felt her blood boil, “What do you mean by that!”
The MC covered her mouth as if she caught herself saying something wrong, “Ah, sorry! So sorry, Ms. Yi. I’m not calling your books trash, I just don’t want them to litter. Ah, look at me. Look at my dumb lips. By trash and litter, I meant that literally, I’m not implying anything metaphorically.”
