Take My Breath Away Chapter 713

Chapter 713 - How Dare You

"Anywhere's fine. My brother's too stingy. I can't even deal with him. Don't worry, Blair. I'll be sure to send you off somewhere my brother won't find you," Niles declared with determination.

Blair was rendered speechless. 'Wesley? Stingy?' She thought the opposite though. This was the first time someone had called Wesley stingy. He had always been generous to her. He was quite possibly the most giving man Blair had ever known.

The clothes she was wearing were given by him as well.

"So, how does my plan sound? Any good? Please really think about it. I pity you and really want to help." Niles opened a bag of sunflower seeds as he offered his advice.

Blair found his idea a little bit laughable. Niles was such a cute guy. She suddenly started to question whether he and Wesley were really brothers. Their personalities were the polar opposite of each other. Wesley was serious and intense while Niles was funny and mild. The older one always beat up the younger one, but the latter would never learn better than to pull a prank on Wesley. Blair shook her head, almost smiling. "How are we going to execute this brilliant plan of yours then? Your brother is very influential. He has a lot of connections. You're aware of that, right? He's a top-notch soldier with great investigative skills. He also possesses a great eye for observation and capturing fugitives. Additionally, he has access to the most advanced tracking equipment available in the country. So, how are you going to help me get rid of him?"

It was the very reason she didn't even try to run away the night before. She knew it would all be for naught, and went back home with Wesley.

It was useless to get rid of him if it was not what he wanted. He'd be able to follow her wherever she was on the face of the earth.

She found no reason to waste her effort shaking him off her tracks. It was wiser to wait for the day Wesley grew tired of her. Only then she'd be able to run away from him.

Niles was at a loss for words. Her words discouraged him.

She was right though. He was only a doctor. While he spent his days in air conditioned rooms at the hospital, Wesley was out there ridding the country of its enemies. He was simply too powerful for Niles.

Blair noticed how he grew silent. "So, don't even try to fight him now. Don't be reckless, okay? We won't be able to run away from your brother." As soon as she spoke those words into existence, a strange feeling loomed in on her. She thought, 'Wait, it sounded like the two of us are planning…'

"Want to elope?" a voice asked, as if reading her mind.

'That's right! It sounded like the two of us are planning to elope, ' Blair thought, nodding.

'Wait, who was that? That sounded very much like Wesley!' Blair snapped back to reality. She lifted her head to see where the voice came and found Wesley leaning against the kitchen doorway. His eyes were set on the two of them.

Niles grew flustered. He shook his head, trying to clear the situation. "No, no. Don't get the wrong idea. I was just trying to keep my sister-in-law by your side. You should be thanking me. I reminded her that you loved her very much. And you should know, she loves you very much as well." It was too late though. The soldier was only inches away from him. "Hey! No touching!" Niles protested.

Wesley paid him no mind as he shoved him out of their apartment. "You asshole! You're my brother. How dare you try and elope with my wife? Get lost!"

Blair didn't know what to do.

"I swear it's not what I was planning to do! Brother, please. I haven't had dinner yet. Don't drive me away," Niles pleaded.

"If I ever see you again, my fists will be doing all the talking." Wesley shoved him all the way to the entrance and gestured for him to change his shoes.

Niles tried to retaliate. He screamed for Blair's help. "Blair! Help me!" Wesley blocked his view, preventing him from asking help.

Blair stood up from her seat. "Wesley," she said in a hushed voice.

The soldier turned around to look at her.

She gestured to Niles and said, "He's already here. At least let him finish his dinner. Please?"

Wesley wanted to say no, but he didn't want to upset her. Without a word, he let go of Niles' arm and went back to the kitchen.

Niles ate dinner with gusto, as opposed to the two who were obviously very unhappy all throughout the meal.

Wesley did not appreciate Niles crashing their dinner. He wanted to enjoy a meal with only Blair. Blair was bummed out just because she had been like this for the past few days.

Niles didn't leave their apartment until it was past ten.

Blair began to take a shower after the doctor left. Wesley took it as a chance to find her laptop in the study.

He connected his cellphone with her laptop, and sent a video to her laptop.

He planned on asking Blair to check out the video on her laptop once she was done with her shower. However, his plan completely went out the window when he saw Blair come out of the bathroom. She was wearing nothing but a bath towel wrapped around her small body, wet hair draping on her shoulders. He was suddenly feeling hot.

Whatever Wesley was thinking, it remained unknown to Blair as she walked around the room very casually. She applied moisturizer onto her face and combed her hair. It was all so natural as if she were still in her own dormitory.

It lasted until she felt Wesley's gaze. That was when she finally realized what she was doing. She looked down to see only a bath towel around her, and headed quickly to the walk-in closet. 'Oh god. I should have put on my pajamas first!'

It was too late. The man had followed her into the walk-in closet.

"Uh, please…uhm, please get out. I need to go get changed," she stuttered as Wesley approached her.

He reached out to her bath towel, and in one fell swoop, it fell onto the ground. It was yet again another sleepless night for Blair.

Wesley remembered how Blair tried to stifle her moans the last time, so tonight, he kept the lights on. He watched every expression on her face as he made love to her.

Blair, however, felt uncomfortable with the lights on. She was not used to this. She asked him to turn the light off but he wouldn't listen.

In her frustration, she resorted to biting him in the shoulder. And she bit deep.

The following day, Blair woke up still sleepy and very exhausted. She reached for her phone and intended to call Rebecca for a leave again.

Then she remembered that Rebecca was fired. Soon, she'd be taking her place. If she wanted to ask for a leave, she would have to go ask the deputy general manager of the company.

She sighed helplessly as she dragged her sore body out of bed. It took every ounce of her energy to get herself into the bathroom.

She took a steaming hot bath. She felt better immediately. She freshened up, got dressed and walked back out of the bedroom. Wesley wasn't around this morning.

Her breakfast was already prepared on the table.

A sticky note was placed on the table as well. "Honey, I am needed at the base today. If you need a day off, let me know and I'll help you. Heat it up before you eat it," it read.

Blair picked up a cob of a corn and took a bite. She headed back to the bedroom with the sticky note and put it in a box she found.

Meanwhile, Wesley was in an office in the base.

Wesley listened to his superior intently. "Wesley, I know you're a married man now, but I really need all the help I could get. I need you to go and train a group of soldiers. I hope you understand," the older man pleaded.

"Can't you at least put it off?" Wesley bargained. His wife was still mad at him. He needed a little more time to win her over again.

The old leader sighed, "The schedule is fixed. I can't make any more changes."

"Sir, I'm thirty-one." He paused for a while before he continued, "But I still have no child yet."

He had planned to devote this entire vacation to Blair. They were in a good place to start a family. All of a sudden, he was being summoned for work again and was told his vacation needed to be cut short.

Wesley's superior felt a little guilty trying to separate the couple so soon. "The only thing I could do is let you bring your wife along."

'Take Blair with me over there?' Wesley's lips were pressed into a line. He was designated to the Gobi desert. Its peak temperature was up to more than fifty degrees Celsius. They would sometimes need to train on a plateau with an altitude of more than a thousand meters. The temperature there varied widely from day to night. Additionally, there would be no constant source of water. He wouldn't want to have Blair suffer under these harsh conditions. The mere thought of this pained his heart. He would never put her in such difficult situations. He'd never allow it.

"Just put it off for a month," he negotiated. He knew well enough the chance of them changing the schedule was close to none, but he still wanted to give it a try.

"I'm afraid that's impossible. You used to accept any missions without hesitation. I knew this day would come. I understand that you have a wife now, but this is an urgent mission. You're the most suitable for the job. Only you can put those soldiers in shape." The older man truly felt sorry for Wesley. He promised him two months' worth of vacation. He deserved it. But he was breaking his promise.
