Looking back at the main chat group, Gu Wushuang was still fielding questions from everyone and gloating in a very pretentious way. Chen Kexin covered her mouth with her hand and almost busted out laughing.

From 8 AM to 2 PM, nobody knew whether she was being shy or that Huo Wencheng has yet to propose to her. Gu Wushuang acted like she had not read any messages in the group at all.
Chen Kexin, as the one who knew what the truth was, said a prayer for her.
She wanted to be pretentious and show off and now that everything has been blown out of proportion, she didn’t know how to put this to an end!

She immediately wrapped her arms around her mother and said coquettishly, “Mom, listen to me. There was this man who is about to propose to his girlfriend and he….”
And she told the story to her mother.
“And everybody thought that the girl is me.”
There was a blush on her cheeks.
Mother Gu, too, was very happy after she heard that.
A mother was always proud when the child that she raised was all grown up and was being doted on by a boy.
“Wencheng had always been nice to you,” said Mother Gu as she patted Gu Wushuang on her back.
“What a big gesture. I have never heard of any other girl who was so pampered.”
“Mmmhmm.” Gu Wushuang could not be more delighted. “He should be over tonight.”
“Okay. Okay. Mom has never seen anything like that before either. Guess I will find out today what it is like to have a house lit up by diamonds.”
The mother and daughter giggled together.
Yet, that night.
Both of them were baffled.
Huo Wencheng showed up on time before dinner. He even got down on one knee in front of Father and Mother Gu and proposed to Gu Wushuang solemnly.
Nevertheless, he only pulled out a box from De Beers.
He opened it up and revealed the sparkling ring inside of it.
“Shuangshuang, let me take care of you for the rest of your life.”
He went on with his very touching speech.
Mother Gu had a strange look on her and Gu Wushuang turned pale. There were unconcealable distress and disappointment coming from her, even.
Neither Mother Gu nor Gu Wushuang looked happy.
That super tender, loving man who had spend countless amount of money on his lover was not Huo Wencheng?!
That lucky woman who was so pampered was not Gu Wushuang?
Even though ring in front of her right now was the biggest she had ever seen among all of her friends. Even though the white and red roses that Huo Wencheng had brought with her was her favorite combination… Gu Wushuang had, nevertheless, turned pale.
