Rise of Humanity Chapter 596

Chapter 595 - A Man Like Him

He couldn’t even understand the totem patterns, but what affected him the most was that he couldn’t even figure out what they were!

All this while, Shi Buyi’s greatest pride wasn’t his strength, but his intelligence; thus, him being unable to understand or even figure out what the totem patterns were was a greater blow to his confidence than anything else.

In fact, with him cultivating the Pure Yang Yuan Shen and ascending as a monster god now, Zhong Yue couldn’t control him like before anymore; the godly aura from the Pure Yang Yuan Shen was now posing an overbearing pressure to the insect magnate parasitizing his Yuan Shen.

It now became incredibly hard for the insect magnate to manipulate his Yuan Shen.

This was the natural coercion from higher beings. Even though Shi Buyi had just cultivated the Pure Yang Yuan Shen, he was still too overpowered for the insect magnate to handle. He didn’t even have to consciously do anything and the aura of his Yuan Shen would slowly kill the insect magnate.

If he consciously tried to deal with the insect magnate, the process would only be accelerated!

However, Shi Buyi was worried about Zhong Yue’s reaction if he killed the insect magnate.

After all, one whose head had been lowered for too long would come to find himself lost of courage; Shi Buyi had to first overcome the meekness that was now ingrained within him before he could rise against Zhong Yue again.

“Congratulations for ascending into deityhood, Monster God Shi Buyi.” All of a sudden, the light wheels above Swords Gate Mountain faded away, and Zhong Yue walked toward him with a smile, “See, I wasn’t fooling around, was I? The life and death experiences are the key to your ascension.”

“I’ve sacrificed far too much for deityhood, I have even failed my disciples just to be a monster god. But now, even though I have achieved the dream I always had in mind, I don’t feel any happiness, instead, there appears to be a void in my heart.” Shi Buyi was sincere as he spoke.

He was indeed happy for a moment back then when he first broke through into the deityhood, and voicing out of his unwillingness to bow before Zhong Yue.

But, the Six Paths Reincarnations coming from Zhong Yue had shattered his dream of invincibility after becoming a monster god. His wild ambition was suppressed by the profundities of the Six Paths Reincarnations, and naturally, the joy in him faded as well.

However, in truth, he was already a monster god while Zhong Yue was still just a True Spirit magnate. No matter how exceptional Zhong Yue was, there was still a limit to the strength he could unleash, he wouldn’t be any stronger than Shi Buyi.

In fact, if the two clashed, Shi Buyi would have a higher chance of winning!

Zhong Yue thought and said while smiling, “Lion, Long Yue will follow you back to the saint city, I have a task for you. I will be using the godly spirits for a ritual, and Long Yue will tell you how to proceed in preparing the altar for the ritual.”

With a thought, a surge of blood essence gushed out from his body and turned into Long Yue. The three divine weapons flew out from his Yuan Shen secret realms and fell behind Long Yue.

Long Yue now had about five percent of his prowess, and the gulf between their strengths was even bigger, but even five percent was strong enough for him to be exceptional among True Spirit magnates.

This was exactly one of the many reasons why Zhong Yue was such a terrifying opponent to stand against!

Shi Buyi was startled, he nodded tacitly and left with Long Yue.

On their way back to the Xian Kong Saint City, Long Yue had taught him the totem patterns of the Great Ritual of Sealing Abdication, asking him to build an altar for the ritual. Shi Buyi grew more terrific as he listened, the totem patterns imparted to him by Long Yue were not much weaker than those of the Six Paths Reincarnations, he couldn’t even understand them at all.

However, he was able to deduce the nature of the altar formed from these totem patterns, if he wasn’t wrong, then the altar was meant for a sacrificial ritual!

What is Master Zhong planning to do? A sacrificial ritual with the godly spirits? With kind of ritual would need godly spirits as offerings?

Fear crept into his heart as he thought, Whatever it is, the West Barren celestial race won’t be able to let me off anymore after the battles in the Divine Battlefield. What is there to fear anymore!

After that, Shi Buyi let go of the fear, and stopped thinking of what Zhong Yue was trying to do.

Meanwhile, in Swords Gate, Zhong Yue surged another blood essence out and formed Mister Bo Xun, he said, “On your trip back to the demon race, go and pay the dragon race a visit, and talk to Lord Dragon.”

Mister Bo Xun nodded and left like a flash of lightning.

Zhong Yue pondered deeply for seconds, he then stood up and walked out of the mountain.

“Junior Martial Brother Zhong, are you leaving again?” Jun Sixie was walking toward him, she was shocked as she saw him walking away, and asked quickly, “It’s been just months, and you are going out again? No, I won’t let you do that, I order you to stay in Swords Gate Mountain until I am satisfied. I’ve been told that the two gods of the West Barren celestial race and the Asura demon god of the demon race are unhappy with you.”

“When were they ever happy?” Zhong Yue smiled, “Senior martial sister, don’t worry. I’m not heading out in seek of trouble today, I just want to pay a visit to a few friends before I leave.”

“Before you… leave?” Jun Sixie’s heart palpitated in shock, she exclaimed, “Where? Why? Are you going to stay in the Kun Lun Realm, are you not coming back anymore?”

Zhong Yue shook his head and smiled, he continued striding forward while the beautiful lady walked close beside him.

“Although I do need to go to the Kun Lun Realm to visit another friend, it is not Kun Lun that I will be leaving to.” Chi Xue’s heroic figure suddenly appeared in his mind, but he softly shook his head and clear his mind of thought of her, “I am leaving the Ancestral Star. I have many questions on my mind, but the Ancestral Star has no answers. There is a sky of mysteries clouding my eyes, and I need to clear it out. I don’t know when I will return, or whether if I can; but I do know that the day I return will be the day humanity will truly return to our rightful place in the world!”

Immediately, Jun Sixie’s heart was swallowed by a mix of many emotions, she startled for a long time before asking softly, “But after you leave, who will be here to look after the humans? Who will be here to guard over the Great Wilderness?”

Zhong Yue shook his head, “Every generation has its own heroes. Furthermore, everything is on track for the human race now; in less than a hundred years, we will be able to see the ascension of the human gods. You, Senior Martial Brother Fang, little Xuan Yuan, Junior Martial Sister Jin’er, and the other juniors, oh, and also Grand Elder Shui Zian. After I leave, the human race will still grow stronger than ever.”

Jun Sixie lowered her head and did not answer. A few moments later, she suddenly asked, “Junior martial brother, will we meet again?”

For the first time, Zhong Yue was perplexed, and abruptly laughed seconds later, “Senior martial sister, I am not leaving now, I will still be here for some time.”

Of course, his answer did not answer the question that Jun Sixie was asking.

Jun Sixie raised her head and stared at Zhong Yue as she shouted out loudly again, “Will we meet again?”

Zhong Yue’s heart throbbed heavily, and he clenched on the clothes in front of his heart as though he was trying to stop it from thumping out from his chest, “I will come back if I am able!”

Jun Sixie watched as he left, turned smaller in her eyes before finally disappearing over the horizon.

“Will you return? But how long will it be before we meet again…”

Gu Hongzi was the first he visited.

The two of them conversed for a long time, and after Zhong Yue announced his intentions, rays flashed across Gu Hongzi’s eyes while saying, “Shi Buyi is now a monster god, he is now as obedient as a dog, but it won’t be the same when you leave. You are the last thing preventing him from conquering the Ancestral Star!”

“I will bring him along with me, but if he isn’t willing to, don’t I still have you?” Zhong Yue smiled.

Gu Hongzi laughed loudly, he nodded and said, “You really do know me well!”

After that, Zhong Yue headed toward the North Barren to look for Bai Canghai and Bai Shuyue. The first thing he did was thank Bai Canghai for his help. The Bai Zhe Clan’s strongest young cultivator’s face turned pale, and he shook his head violently, “Brother Zhong, don’t do this, please! No one knows the Pure Yang Qi came from me, if the world knows about it, I will surely be killed!”

Bai Shuyue was smiling mischievously from the side, and suddenly, she said, “Did Senior Martial Brother Zhong come just to thank us?”

Zhong Yue shook his head, his face turned solemn as he said, “The world is changing, something has changed within our star system. It’s effect is still faint and imperceptible, but it’s happening. I fear that a thousand years later, cultivation will be harder. This is a force that even the gods are helpless against. That’s why I’m here to tell you that if the Bai Zhe Clan intends to survive, the Ancestral Star is no longer a suitable place for your race to live in. If you are willing to, I can bring you to the Kun Lun Realm instead.”

Bai Canghai’s face drastically changed, he hopped up from the ground and exclaimed, “This is…. Why didn’t the gods tell us? I need to inform the clan master, now!”

“Canghai, slow down.” Bai Shuyue stopped him, she turned to Zhong Yue and asked, “Senior Martial Brother Zhong, I am not doubting you, but perhaps, there is something more that brings you here, or I could be wrong? After all, if cultivation is to come to an end, we the other races can still live a better life with our natural abilities, but that doesn’t apply to the humans.”

The more she said, the clearer her thoughts became, “You have done quite a few notable things lately, each of them could have quaked the Ancestral Star for a long period of time, yet, you’ve done them all in a row. What exactly are you trying to do? I heard that you have captured over five hundred godly spirits in the battle of the Divine Battlefield. If you are there to show the strength of the human race and earn their respect, I don’t see a need for you to capture them, unless…”

Suddenly, she stopped and the winter accustomed lady shivered in cold.

Zhong Yue nodded softly and praised in his heart. He had to admit that she was indeed smart. Seeing that Bai Shuyue had managed to guess his intentions, he decided to be frank as well, “Yes, I am going to seal the godly power flowing in the races’ bloodlines, whether it be the celestial, demon, monster or even insect race, they will all become no different to humanity. If you still take me as your friend, and that you still trust me, then listen to me and leave for Kun Lun. Also, I hope you two can keep this a secret.”

Bai Shuyue and Bai Canghai were greatly shocked and at a loss for words.

“This will be my final act on the Ancestral Star, after that, I will leave for a higher place.” Zhong Yue stood up and waved them farewell, “That’s the last reason I came here—to say goodbye to you, my friends.”

While Bai Canghai was still in shock, Bai Shuyue came back to her senses and quickly asked, “Are you going to the Kun Lun Realm as well?”

Zhong Yue shook his head, “No.”

“When are you coming back?” The young lady continued asking.

Zhong Yue shook his head before leaving, “Consider my proposal and inform me once you have made your decision.”

Bai Shuyue watched as he left with conflicted emotions. It was only then that Bai Canghai was able to recollect his thoughts, he praised sincerely, “Brother Zhong is really ambitious, he wants to seal the bloodline power of all the other races, wait, doesn’t that include the Bai Zhe Clan as well? Can’t he spare us and just keep us in a secluded space?”

“No.” Bai Shuyue regained her usual composure, she answered placidly, “If the others are all sealed with the Bai Zhe Clan the only one left, we will undoubtedly become the strongest in the Ancestral Star. Although the Bai Zhe Clan has no wild ambitions now, there is no guarantee that our descendants will be the same as us. And this is something he will never allow.”

Bai Canghai quickly came to understand, and he nodded softly.

The young lady sighed, “We can’t expose his plan now, the only thing we can use to convince the clansmen is the fact that this world is not fit for cultivation anymore. If word of his plan is to be leaked, the Bai Zhe Clan will have to face the whole planet’s wrath. However, I can already name a few of our clansmen who will oppose the migration to Kun Lun, many will not leave with us.”

Bai Canghai’s heart quivered as he asked, “They…”

“They will be sealed, along with the other races.” Bai Shuyue said placidly, “He is not doing this as Zhong Yue, but as a member of the human race. And as someone from humanity, he will not spare anyone from this fate. A man like him whose made up his mind will never be convinced by any words!”

In the world birthed by Pangu, the Three Sovereigns lit the spark of humanity that the Five Emperors would later fan into a blazing fire, eternally branding humanity as the leaders of the world…. This was a time where twilight had descended on the reign of the Human Sovereign and the Five Emperors had yet to emerge – humanity was merely one of the myriad races wandering about the vast cosmos. This was a desolate and barren era. The monsters, devils, heavenly gods, and deities of all races stood aloft; with the demons, heavenly souls, and spirits dancing freely around the world. The humans were still a feeble and burgeoning race, often taken as livestock and offered as sacrifices to the pantheon of races that ruled the world together from within the great wilderness. This was not the era of the Foreworld, but the barbaric and untamed era of uncivilization! Let us rewind back to China’s ancient and classical mythology and recount the legendary tale of how a single figure led humanity out of an epoch of darkness and into a new dawn.
