Rise of Humanity Chapter 560

Chapter 559 - City of Nature

Chapter 559 – City of Nature

What was front of him was a mountain ridge purely formed by divine gold. Everything, even the stones and rocks on the ground were just different kinds of divine gold.

The mountain ridge was like vein of a dormant earth dragon.

“Oh my.…” Zhong Yue sucked in a deep breath. With the amount of divine gold visible on the ground, the amount that was hidden underground could be imagined.

If it were all to be mined, how many weapons could be forged from it!

Even as a conservative estimate, the amount would be enough to equip all Swords Gate Qi Practitioners with a divine weapon!

“How could there be so much divine gold? If it was all brought back to Swords Gate…”

Zhong Yue breathed heavily and quickly calmed himself down. Even with his considerable amount of knowledge and experience, he was still shocked by what he had just seen.

“From the past until now, countless Qi Practitioners and gods must’ve come and gone. Why hasn’t anyone found this divine gold?”

He calmed himself down and opened all three of his divine eyes and looked down. But his vision could only penetrate a mile deep.

“Are the divine gold ores obstructing my vision?” Zhong Yue mumbled as he thought. He walked to the front of a small hill made of divine gold and cut out a piece of the divine gold with his Golden Peng Sword to inspect it.

“Hmm? The divine gold here seems, different…” he frowned as he inspected the divine gold in his hand. He raised his other hand and took out another piece from his Yuan Shen secret realms and compared the two.

Both pieces of divine golds were engraved with the totem patterns. But the difference was that the one in his Yuan Shen secret realms had more visible totem patterns and a stronger spiritual energy than the one from this place.

“It seems like the spiritual energy in this piece of divine gold is fading away, its value has greatly deteriorated, nearly turning into normal mystic gold.”

Zhong Yue then threw it away. He walked another few steps and cut out another piece to compare it to a piece from his Yuan Shen secret realms, soon arriving at the same conclusion as the earlier sample

Strange, the divine gold here is abundant, but their value isn’t particularly high. It seems like something is siphoning the spiritual energy away from them.

Zhong Yue thought, But even so, the cumulative value here is still not insignificant. A thousand pieces of this divine gold can be refined into one piece of pure divine gold, this place is still a precious resource. Why hasn’t anyone come to claim before?

Soon after, he found the path in front of him scattered with skeletons. Zhong Yue was shocked to find that the skeletons were from various races, densely paved across the floor!

He looked further and saw the skeletons fully covering the path in front, they were everywhere!

Furthermore, he saw an old and abandoned mining site not far away from here. Clearly, there were Qi Practitioners that found this place and were mining already. But something happened in between that caused the deaths of these Qi Practitioners.

Zhong Yue lowered his head and inspected the skeletons. There were any visible traces that were left on the skeletons, as though they weren’t brutally killed, but died of curses instead.

What’s more strange is that all of these skeletons are going toward the same direction. It means that whatever happened, it occurred so quickly before anyone else could reacted to it. They were all running out but none could made it out before it happened.

Zhong Yue calmed himself and walked forward further. There were even more skeletons ahead, piling up like hills and little mountains. Some were the demons, some celestials, there were also some skeletons from the Bai Zhe Clan and even the insect race!

But the human skeletons were the ones that outnumbered every other race. After all, the humans were often enslaved by the other races, it wasn’t a surprise that they would be sent here to work as miners.

Not long later, nearly over a hundred huge dragon skeletons appeared in front of him. These dragon skeletons were about a few thousand feet long from head to tail.

Then, he saw the huge Peng and huge Kun skeletons, they were really large.

“They are at least at the True Spirit level!” Zhong Yue sucked in a cold breath of air and grew even more cautious. Even these True Spirit magnates had not a single impression on their bones, whatever happened here was on a higher-level than what the True Spirit magnates could withstand.

Mother Da Zhen’s traces!

Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of the traces left behind by Mother Da Zhen and quickly rushed forward.

Tracing Mother Da Zhen’s trail, he suddenly remembered something he was oblivious of before and quivered in terror, The spiritual energy! All of these skeletons don’t have any spiritual energy in them!

There were many dead Qi Practitioners in here, surely some of them would be strong enough to have engraved totem patterns into their bones. That way, even after they were dead, there would still be a faint flow of spiritual energy lingering in their skeletons!

Yet, none of the skeletons Zhong Yue had saw any totem patterns engraved on them. All of the totem patterns were wiped away and their spiritual energies were seemingly robbed!

Furthermore, these Qi Practitioners would have brought many soul weapons with them, but Zhong Yue had yet to see any of them!

Zhong Yue suddenly stopped, he noticed an odd protrusion of dust on the ground. Immediately, he squinted his eyes and looked at it. It looked like the tip of a soul weapon, like a saber sheath. He reached his hand out and held on it but the saber sheath turned into dust right as his fingertips touched it.

Even the soul weapons were drained of their spiritual energy, eventually turned into dust!

He glanced around and found a tree in the midst of the divine gold hills. It looked as though it was burnt in flames, that it was charred into a huge piece of charcoal.

He strode forward and softly knocked it. The charred tree skin fell off from the surface and revealed the glimmering trunk made of divine gold. But even the divine gold trunk was low in spiritual energy, like a dying old man.

There was no doubt that this was once a divine weapon, but now, it was slowly turning into ordinary mystic gold, and eventually, it would turn to ash!

Even the spiritual energy in the divine weapons are sucked away! Who or what is siphoning all this spiritual energy away from the bones, divine gold, and even weapons?

Zhong Yue had an ominous feeling. The more he discovered about this strange land, the more questions he had and the greater his fear grew.

Zhong Yue heaved a long breath of air, mumbling softly, “Xin Huo, are there any creatures in this universe that robs spiritual energy from people and items?”

Xin Huo shook his head, “There were, but they are all extinct. The Ancestral Star is the origin of the Heavenly Monarchs and there are many imperial tombs here. Such evil livings wouldn’t be living in places like this, and even if there were any, they would’ve been killed a long time ago…”

“Then what explanation is there for what’s going on around here?” Zhong Yue asked.

Xin Huo softly shook his head. He was just as puzzled as Zhong Yue.

All of a sudden, a divine gold mountain shuddered for a split second. Zhong Yue quickly looked over and saw a faint ray of light escaping from one of the mining holes!

“What is there?” Zhong Yue raised his hand and launched a flurry of 【Dragon Shears】 into the mining hole. As soon they entered the mining hole, they instantly dispersed!

The divine gold mountain then soon returned to silence.

Cold sweat burst out from Zhong Yue’s forehead. He was starting to think of leaving already. This place was too bizarre, if he was to go any deeper, he was worried that he might not be able to make it out alive.

Just at this moment, Zhong Yue stopped. His eyes turned vacant as he looked to the front.

A few miles away from him, there was a huge city that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Green vines crawled over the city walls and the surroundings were enclosed in forests. The city gate was a huge head with an open mouth as the entrance.

The head seemed to be sculpted from rocks. But when Zhong Yue looked around, the corner of the city walls were in fact, the four limbs of a body. Two hands and two legs, forming the four corners of the city walls.

The four limbs were huge and tall, extending all the way from the bottom of the ground to the top of the underground space.

He looked up and saw the body, rib bones and belly of the huge head. the city was over a thousand miles long and wide. It was this huge statue that held up the rock above it, allowing the city to be built under it!

“No, the city isn’t under the sculpted rock giant! The city is inside of the sculpted rock giant’s stomach!” Zhong Yue hesitated. He really didn’t want to enter the underground city.

The city’s appearance was too sudden and its location was just too bizarre. Even his three Fuxi divine eyes were unable to see through the city, it really didn’t felt right and good to enter.

“If this sculpted rock giant is really a statue, then it’s really a marvelous art structure. But what if… it isn’t a statue…” his face turned solemn. In this world of gods and cultivation, anything was possible!

This rock giant might really be a living giant with a city built in its stomach. Walking into the city would be like walking into his stomach. What if the huge giant suddenly awakened, wouldn’t Zhong Yue be like looking for death himself?

“What an odd species!” Xin Huo suddenly said, he exclaimed in surprise, “This giant has half the blood of the innate gods!”

Zhong Yue raised his brow, “This giant is really a god?”

“A half-blood innate god, he should be a direct descendant of an innate god. What a shame that he is dead now.” Xin Huo glanced at the giant and the city, “The innate gods have no limits on their lifespan. But that isn’t the same for their children. Even their direct offspring only has the same lifespan as ordinary gods. But this half-blood innate god, why is he here? And why did he die here?”

Zhong Yue squinted his eyes and saw two ancient words carved on the top of the city gate. They looked like the mixture of the celestial words and demon words, but more complex and archaic. Surely enough, Zhong Yue had no idea what they were.

“Nature.” Xin Huo said.

Zhong Yue was puzzled, he asked, “The name of the city? Or the name of the giant?”

“No idea. This piece of land has no Qi Practitioners, and no spiritual energy. I wonder if it had anything to do with this city?” Xin Huo rolled his eyes and urged, “Brat Yue, let’s go in and scout it out! The child of an innate god, he must have left behind many treasures, especially the innate Qi! That is something not even the Heavenly Monarchs could get their hands on. Only the innate gods and their first generation of children could have it!”

Zhong Yue hesitated, he looked down and found Mother Da Zhen’s traces trailing into the city. Clearly, she was already inside.

Mother Da Zhen is in the city already. No matter what, she must be killed! Or otherwise, if she recovers from her injuries, I’ll be the one to die! Furthermore, even if anything happens, I still many treasures that can help me. I can still hide in the copper lamp if everything else fails!

Zhong Yue made his decision and strode into the city. The ancient city turned dilapidated over the course of time, but still possessed great energy in it. His divine eyes were greatly obstructed, leaving him relatively blinded.
