As soon as Chi Shuyan said that, Teacher Yu and Sister-in-law Kong’s faces changed drastically. The husband and wife looked at each other and saw the suspicion and shock in each other’s eyes.

This was another reason why Chi Shuyan was willing to help the Yu family.
That night, Chi Shuyan stayed at the Yu place and sent Chef Li a message to say that she wouldn’t be back tonight.

When the door closed, Chi Shuyan narrowed her eyes and listened intently for movement outside. Not long after, there was the sound of footsteps and then the clatter of a wooden chopping board being used.

The thing stared at the chopping board with a sinister smile. It looked very evil, and its mouth opened to reveal sparse, sharp teeth, which made it look even uglier.
Chi Shuyan narrowed her eyes. Not long after, she saw the thing suddenly pick up a knife and walk out of the kitchen and toward Sister Xiao Wei’s room.
