After Qin Chu saw that, his expression changed subtly… He called Zhang Manlin.
“When did this happen?”
“Just now… Our Dr. Liu fainted and Vice Director was super worried… She came to visit him herself. I always thought that she was just caring, but I was surprised when I saw them hold hands. I heard that she was germaphobic and rarely made skin contact… That’s a little strange… President Qin, since we’re good friends, I wanted you to know. Interacting with Zhang Manlin wasn’t that simple. He needed to act naturally and not too close to her.
Acting close would make Huo Siqian suspicious. If he didn’t, it might make things go too slow. So, Qin Chu needed to gauge the speed.
It was quite exhausting… Zhang Manlin’s behavior wasn’t out of the ordinary, because she didn’t have very high of emotional intelligence to begin with.
Qin Chu wasn’t clear on Liu Ze’s background and whether he worked for Huo Siqian or not. However, his intentions to approach Mian were clear.
That allowed Zhang Manlin to get evidence to expose her. Her intention was obviously to destroy their marriage.
Could so many years of love be easily be torn apart by a few annoying schemers?
Qin Chu used to think that death was the only thing that could separate him from Mian.
Now, he realized that even death couldn’t tear them apart. If something were to happen to Mian, he wouldn’t continue living alone. No matter where they were, they were meant to be together forever.
Thinking about that made Qin Chu take out Huo Mian’s picture from a drawer. He cherished the memories that they shared over the years.
No matter when and where Huo Mian was the person who he cherished most of all. Nobody could compare to her, not even the twins.
It was a unique kind of love. It was a possessive and selfish love.

Zhang Manlin snuck out during the tax filing period to see Huo Siqian.
“Boss, Zhang Manlin is here.”
“Let her in.” Huo Siqian put down the teacup.
Zhang Manlin entered. She was wearing a black work suit and wore black-rimmed glasses like Huo Mian.
People who weren’t familiar with her would think that it was Huo Mian.
In reality, people who knew her well like Qin Chu and Huo Siqian could tell right away. No matter how much she tried to imitate Huo Mian, she couldn’t replicate her spirit.

However, his facial expression changed.
