“A wedding? So soon?” Qin Chu asked with surprise.
“It is soon… ask your uncle tomorrow.” Huo Mian was shocked as well.
“Mhm, I’ll call him tomorrow. You guys should get some rest soon as well, good night.” Then, Qin Chu and Huo Mian headed upstairs to bed.

After breakfast, Qin Chu and Huo Mian drove to work in their own cars; now that Ian was gone, Qin Chu didn’t have to drive Huo Mian to work every day, so the latter went to South Side in her Audi R8.
After the morning meeting, Huo Mian went back to her office, where Chen Jie brought over a giant stack of documents. “Director, we have a lot of patients today… I made a list and brought their files over.”
Huo Mian nodded. Then, someone knocked on her office door.
“Hello, is this Dr. Huo’s office?”
Huo Mian looked up at this familiar voice; it was Huo Yanyan.
“Yanyan?” she asked with surprise.
“I’ll be outside, Chief.” Chen Jie immediately left Huo Mian’s office and closed the door behind her.
Huo Mian stood up and pulled a chair out for Huo Yanyan. “Come, sit down.”
“I’ve been looking for you for a while, your office is so secluded… I wouldn’t have known you were promoted to the vice director if I didn’t come!” Huo Yanyan smiled elegantly. She was wearing an apricot-colored dress and silk scarf.
She may be wearing luxury brands, but her outfits weren’t as flashy as they used to be.
After Huo Yanyan began dating Shen Mingxi, they rarely saw each other, nor did they interact on WeChat, aside from liking each other’s posts once in a while.
Just yesterday, Huo Yanyan and Shen Mingxi went hiking and barbequing for Valentine’s Day. Their relationship was stable, and Huo Yanyan seemed happy.
“I’m not really the vice director, I don’t make executive decisions. I still do consults and everything, so I’m still a doctor.” Huo Mian smiled and poured Huo Yanyan a glass of water.
“I don’t have any more tea, so you’ll have to make do with water…”

“Mian, I did want to talk to you about something.” Huo Yanyan placed down her glass of water and looked at Huo Mian with all seriousness.
“Sure.”
The truth is… before Mo Xue’er died, she came looking for me and gave me this…” Then, Huo Yanyan calmly told Huo Mian everything that happened before herself and Mo Xue’er. Then, she showed Huo Mian the drug bottle.
