Shangguan Ning was not as confident as Zhao Anan thought she was.
Her hands were sweating because she had never used a gun before. Jing Yichen had given her a gun just this morning. Although he had taught her how to use it and she looked rather confident while holding it, but she was actually very nervous. It seemed so easy to watch others take away one’s life but she didn’t realize how difficult it was to aim at someone, herself.
A life would disappear just because she pulled the trigger.
Jing Yichen had not wanted to give her the gun because the gun powder might be bad for the baby. But after a moment of hesitation, he had decided to go ahead and give it to her.
When he went to be the bait to lead Lan Yu out earlier today, Lan Yu could have used the opportunity to do something to Shangguan Ning. Therefore, apart from getting stronger security to keep Shangguan Ning safe, he had left this with her as an additional measure.
Shangguan Ning felt lucky to have not turned down this powerful weapon. At least with a gun in her hand, she and Zhao Anan would have a chance at survival.
Tang Yun might not know Shangguan Ning, but Shangguan Rouxue did. She had always been a kind hearted person since she was young. She had kept stray animals and had supported many poor children. She even donated money and goods to the orphanage every year.
Kill someone?
Honestly, if Shangguan Ning could kill, Shangguan Rouxue could fly!
She will not have the courage to pull the trigger.
Shangguan Rouxue walked a few steps forward and approached Shangguan Ning and said with a gentle smile, “Sister, stop pretending. Your hands are trembling. Do you think you can fool me? If you really had the killer’s instinct you would not have tormented my mother until she was forced to kill herself. You just couldn’t do it yourself.”
“Better back off now, Shangguan Rouxue, or I will shoot if you take one more step.”
Shangguan Ning’s hands were trembling, but she was determined at the moment. She would not allow Shangguan Rouxue to approach her because an evil woman like Shangguan Rouxue would end up injuring her for sure.
She couldn’t afford to get injured due to her pregnancy. She had a child in her womb and she was not going to take any risk.
Shangguan Rouxue ignored what she said. She walked ahead because she was sure that Shangguan Ning was never going to pull the trigger. She was a timid person and because of Huang Liyu’s suicide and her dying in front of her covered in blood, she was probably scared of blood post that.
But the next moment the gun firing could be heard in the room which was followed by Shangguan Rouxue’s shrill scream.
“Bang!”
Shangguan Ning pulled the trigger.
She had meant to scare Shangguan Rouxue by shooting the ground near her foot. But she was not good at aiming, so the bullet went through Shangguan Rouxue’s foot instead.
Shangguan Rouxue had underestimated Shangguan Ning. She couldn’t recognise the person in front of her.
Ning used to avoid trouble because she didn’t want others to badger her. She tolerated Shangguan Rouxue in the past because she didn’t think of her as someone important. Her affection for Xie Zhuojun had been enough to upset her and hate them both, but she didn’t find it worthy enough to fight against them throughout her entire life.
Shangguan Ning had been scared of blood because it used to remind her of mother’s death. But as time went by, she was no longer scared. It was just a painful memory.
Shangguan Ning calmed down after pulling the trigger and hearing Shangguan Rouxue’s scream. She saw that blood was gushing out of her feet.
Shooting was not such a scary thing.
She was just feeling a bit guilty to have allowed her child to experience such violence when the baby was still in her belly. She was not a qualified mother.
Smoke arose out of the gun because of the bullet. But Shangguan Ning stayed calm.
Zhao Anan was much calmer than Shangguan Ning because she had used a gun in the past. She wanted to clap seeing Shangguan Ning shooting Shangguan Rouxue down.
“Hahaha, you are good at shooting, Ning! Seems that my cousin has taught you well.” She thought that Shangguan Ning had meant to hit Shangguan Rouxue.
“Hey, you senseless woman, how does it feel to be shot? My sister asked you to back off but you continued to disobey her. Well, congratulations, hope you become paralyzed after this.”
Shangguan Rouxue laid down on the floor. Her face was pale because of the pain and she had no energy to argue with Zhao Anan.
Tang Yun knew how cruel Shangguan Ning could get. She hadn’t removed her foot however much she pierced her calf with nails that last time at Family Jing’s.
Today, she realised again how ruthless this woman could be!
Had she known about the gun, they would have thrown the smoke bomb inside first before coming in.
But the reason why she kept talking with Shangguan Ning was because she needed some more time.
Tang Yun raised her wrist to check the time and then mumbled, “It should happen by now. Why is Shangguan Ning still fine?”
Hearing what she said, Shangguan Ning got startled and her expression changed. “Both of you get out of here or I will shoot again.”
Shangguan Ning had sensed a strange fragrance the moment they entered the room. But she was too nervous to realise that the fragrance was not their perfume, but a smell that could cause miscarriage.
Tang Yun was here for a big mission, so she had got a gun as well.
Tang Yun pulled out a gun from behind and laughed sinisterly. “Shangguan Ning, Zhao Anan, you both are dead women, now. Honestly, you looked like a three year old while holding the gun.”
Seeing Tang Yun bring the gun out, Shangguan Rouxue bellowed, “Are you mental, Tang Yun? Why didn’t you take it out earlier? Shoot her and take revenge for me.”
Tang Yun ignored her. She didn’t care that Shangguan Rouxue had got shot.
