1555 Double The Money
To be honest, the original sum was already a generous offer and it was double than what Liu Qian had expected.
Now that DO Corporation had agreed to double it, this meant it was four times more than what he expected.
Liu Qian nearly wanted to scream when he saw the number. It was simply exhilarating.
Huo Yao saw Liu Qian going into a daze, so she could not help calling him. “Hello?”
Liu Qian snapped out of his daze promptly. He cleared his throat and did his utmost to stay calm. “Huo Yao, what do you think?”
J hurriedly said, “If you don’t like the number, I can double it again.”
Money was no object as long as it could appease his father.
Liu Qian inhaled deeply in shock.
For a moment, he thought his ears were playing tricks on him.
“This is just the preliminary fee. The company will reimburse for all other related charges,” added J.
Liu Qian’s brain nearly hung as he looked at Huo Yao automatically.
Huo Yao smiled satisfactorily. She looked at the buffoon who had just thrown money at her. “You were talking about the database, right? I have a new proposal for it and it’s even better than the old version.”
He suddenly felt very flattered by the attention and did not know what to say.
Before long, Huo Yao chatted to J about work patiently.
Qi Hui had stood there the entire time without being included at all. He took the contract from Liu Qian and had a look at it.
After looking at it, his face turned increasingly pale.
The CEO of DO Corporation had asked to work with Huo Yao. Also, he doubled the money twice without hesitation. This project was the highest-grossing project he had seen in years.
After the project was done, it would look very good on Liu Qian’s resume.
Moreover, Qi Hui had nothing to show in terms of work in the past two years. He naturally felt threatened professionally.
Liu Qian glanced at Qi Hui and did not know what he was thinking. He simply raised his chin and said, “Mr. Qi, do we still have to apologize to the institute?”
Qi Hui froze awkwardly before he said, “No matter what, you have to explain yourselves to the institute.”
However, he did not mention anything about apologizing.
Liu Qian looked at Huo Yao as she chatted with the CEO of DO Corporation. He turned to look at Qi Hui and said mockingly, “Mr. Qi, do you have hearing problems? Didn’t you listen to what Mr. Meng said earlier? It was a mistake. Since it was a mistake, why do we have to explain anything?”
Liu Qian paused and added. “If anyone has to answer to them, it should be you, Mr. Qi.”
Qi Hui’s expression cracked and he nearly lost his cool.
Qi Hui had told Wei Yong about the project.
If Wei Yong found out how much the company paid to hire Huo Yao, he could not imagine how Wei Yong would take it. Qi Hui stumbled slightly just thinking about it.
He had sabotaged himself and now he was completely cornered.
Before long, Jie Xi was done revising the contract and printed it. He handed the document to his boss who signed it without hesitation. Also, J asked for Liu Qian’s number.
Jie Xi thought about the conversation he had with J in the car and his boss’s conversation with Huo Yao. It suddenly dawned on him that his boss was not joking earlier.
He pondered briefly before he bowed and said apologetically to Huo Yao, “I’m so sorry about causing a misunderstanding this morning. Please forgive me.”
Huo Yao glanced at Jie Xi quizzically.
