Yang Yi placed the black fabric back over the weapon. Since he was more mature, he was not as talkative as Zhuo Yun. He simply said, “The boss hasn’t said anything, so you should stay quiet about this.”
Zhuo Yun glanced at Yang Yi and promptly caught his drift. “I know. Do I look stupid to you?”
Yang Yi smiled forcibly. “You certainly have a history of doing dumb things.”
Zhuo Yun went speechless.
Yang Yi seemed to enjoy insulting him.
“Didn’t he say he needed more time to finish it? Why did he suddenly finish doing it? Perhaps he suddenly got inspired to finish it sooner now that Miss Huo is back in the capital. This way, he can free up his time for her,” remarked Zhuo Yun as he leaned against the table and prodded his chin.
Even now, he felt jealous of his boss for having a girlfriend!
Yang Yi looked at Zhuo Yun in disdain. “Sometimes, it’s good to have brains.”
Zhuo Yun felt puzzled.
“Do you think the boss told us to come to the basement just to see the weapon?” asked Yang Yi in annoyance.
When they brought up keeping bureau matters from Miss Huo, their boss said nothing and simply told them to go to the basement. There must be some deeper meaning behind this.
Zhuo Yun was stunned. He wiped the smile from his face as he realized the serious look on Yang Yi’s face. He pondered briefly before a notion suddenly dawned on him.
Zhuo Yun’s cheeks twitched. He looked at the weapon sitting on the table under the cloth. “Don’t tell me Miss Huo assembled it?”
He promptly recalled all the unusual things Huo Yao was capable of accomplishing. The more he thought about it, the more he felt she was behind the assembly.
Zhuo Yun covered his face uneasily. If Miss Huo had genuinely assembled the weapon, the things he had just mentioned would be considered petty and rude.
He thought he would have the chance to see the people at the Weapons Bureau embarrass themselves when they saw the assembled weapon. Sadly, he had managed to slap his own face first.
Yang Yi glanced at Zhuo Yun. Even though Yang Yi seemed composed, he felt the same way as Zhuo Yun.
Yang Yi inhaled deeply and suppressed his embarrassment. “Watch your tongue from now on.”
Zhuo Yun hurriedly nodded. “I wonder if I pissed off the boss. I have to make up for saying the wrong things.”
He retrieved his phone from his pocket.
Yang Yi looked at Zhuo Yun at a loss. The moment he got a closer look at Zhuo Yun’s phone screen, he went quiet for ten seconds before quietly taking out his phone as well.

Huo Yao was talking to Min Yu when her phone suddenly vibrated. Since she was already holding her phone, she promptly stopped talking and checked it.

Huo Yao felt puzzled when she received those text message notifications. She raised her head and looked at Min Yu as he drove. “Did Zhuo Yun and Yang Yi suddenly strike a lottery?”
Min Yu glanced at the rearview mirror and asked quizzically. “Huh?”
Huo Yao veered her eyes and composed a text message as she said, “Each of them just gave me a $50 000 red packet. This is so strange.”
Min Yu finally realized why his men were suddenly transferring money to her.
Min Yu continued looking straight ahead as he said expressionlessly to Huo Yao, “They might be feeling generous after receiving a big fat bonus before the holidays started. Don’t be shy. Just take it. Consider it a Chinese New Year red packet.”
Huo Yao was about to reply to Zhuo Yun and Yang Yi’s text messages to refuse the money. The moment she heard what Min Yu said, her hands paused briefly.
