Jiang Mingyue tightened her fists before letting them go. All the worry on her exquisite face promptly disappeared as she said unhurriedly, “Continue working on the experiment. I am going to talk to my teacher.”
Now, she could only get her teacher to help her make them drop the issue.
After all, her teacher was the department head while Liu Qian was just an ordinary teacher in the department.

Jiang Mingyue left the laboratory block and went over to Qi Hui’s office.
Qi Hui happened to have only one class today, so he had just come back to the office when she came over.
Jiang Mingyue told Qi Hui about her using Huo Yao’s idea without coming entirely clean with him.
Qi Hui frowned when he heard this. He looked at Jiang Mingyue. “Didn’t you say you and your team members came up with the second thesis?”
The first time he saw the thesis, he was pleased with his disciple’s talent. Now, she was telling him the thesis was created using the suggestions from a freshman.
Jiang Mingyue did not dare to look at Qi Hui. Instead, she kept her head lowered and squeezed her hands nervously. “I am sorry for disappointing you, Mr. Qi. I felt Huo Yao’s suggestions had more research value, so I changed my original thesis.”
Qi Hui touched his forehead. “Are you saying Huo Yao is insisting that you plagiarized because of this?”
Jiang Mingyue’s eyelashes trembled slightly before she nodded. “It was my fault. I didn’t ask for her permission when I changed my thesis.”
“What permission? All she did was give those suggestions. Did she write the thesis? Did she come up with the calculations? Since she did nothing of the sort, how could this be considered copying?”
Despite his anger for not being told sooner, Qi Hui was far angrier with this unreasonable student.
Rather than make trouble, it was about time Huo Yao learned a thing or two about respect.
Jiang Mingyue did not dare to answer. She could not tell him the calculations were done by Huo Yao. Otherwise, Qi Hui would lose all faith in her. Also, her teacher would stop caring about her.
In any case, she had deleted the data records from the computer. If she refused to admit it, even with Liu Qian’s help, it was impossible for them to obtain any evidence.
Qi Hui cast a disappointed look at Jiang Mingyue. He sighed deeply. “Okay. I will take care of this. You had better be smarter next time. If you continue being so nice, people are just going to push you around.”
The moment Jiang Mingyue heard what Qi Hui said, she finally felt relieved. She raised her head and looked as though she was on the brink of tears with her eyes misting over. “Thanks, Mr. Qi. I will be more careful from now on. I won’t make the same mistake ever.”
Qi Hui noticed how sorry she looked and could not bring himself to reprimand her.
Even though she was a gifted pupil, she was simply too kind for her own good.
Qi Hui waved his hand before he said, “Let’s go over to Liu Qian’s office.”
Jiang Mingyue wiped the tears from the corner of her eye before she nodded. She thanked him repeatedly and followed behind him.
Just as Qi Hui was about to leave through the door, he halted and turned to look at Jiang Mingyue and said solemnly, “I will ask you one last time. Are you sure your thesis was based only on her suggestion and nothing else?”
