On that very afternoon, Yang Qing personally called Yan Jinyi and praised the film ‘Moon’ before informing her that Yixin Finance wanted to provide help to parents who were looking for their children in order to repay society on behalf of the firm and all the celebrities they worked with. She also expressed her interest in having Yan Jinyi be the spokesperson and initiator of this campaign.
After hanging up, she turned to look at Huo Xishen.
“Mr. Huo, look, Yang Qing is trying to scheme against me.”
Huo Xishen was reading a book. Hearing her words, he raised his head slightly and asked, “Darling, are you sure you’re not the one scheming against her?”
Yan Jinyi humphed coldly and then laughed out loud, thinking to himself that Yang Qing was probably planning to take advantage of this opportunity to get a large sum of money. When the time comes, she would abscond with the money and then frame Yan Jinyi on it.
If she was the initiator and spokesperson, everyone would believe Yang Qing, causing Yan Jinyi to plunge to the doldrums.
‘Tsk, tsk, indeed, the older, the wiser. If it were Leng Yuxi, she wouldn’t have been able to come up with such an amazing plan.
“Mr. Huo, in case I really get defeated by Yang Qing and sent to prison, you have to visit me often!”
“Darling, will you let yourself go to jail?”
Yan Jinyi said with a look of innocence, “Society is too chaotic nowadays and people are scheming against each other all the time. Isn’t it better to stay in prison? Seeing how self-righteous she was, Huo Xishen felt a little helpless so he said, “I’ll bail you out, don’t worry.”
While Huo Xishen had his guard down, Yan Jinyi suddenly leaped over to wrap her arms around his neck. She planted a kiss on his face and then said, “It’s no wonder that you’re Mr. Huo. You’re so domineering, I love you! Mwacks!”
After saying that, she waved at Huo Xishen and turned away.
She was dressed to the nines tonight, all ready to impress the crowd!
Huo Xishen stared at Yan Jinyi’s back and then subconsciously touched his face.
‘Did she…just say that she loves me?’
Yang Qing booked a yacht restaurant which had been extremely popular lately, though Yan Jinyi was unsure if it was deliberate or not. It would take about a two-hour drive to get there from the city.
Yan Jinyi contemplated for a while and decided to wear a blue and white beach dress with a thin jacket. Instead of attending a banquet, she looked like she was going for a vacation instead.
The beach was lined up with lights and more than ten sailboats docked on the shore.
Yan Jinyi was ushered to No. 6 sailboat by the staff. The largest sailboat had a romantic interior and a special violin band on the deck.
If the person she was meeting wasn’t Yang Qing, she would have suspected that someone had prepared a wedding proposal for her.
Yan Jinyi shook off the goosebumps of her body and reached out to fumble about in her small handbag before entering the cabin with a smile on her face.
Apart from Yang Qing, there were two other wives of wealthy men. The trio were laughing and chatting merrily.
“You’re here, Second Young Mistress Huo, please have a seat.”
“Mr. Yang, you keep asking me out. Are you going to introduce a friend to me?” Yan Jinyi asked innocently with a curious expression on her face.
Yang Qing looked at the two ladies beside her who had a hypocritical smile on her face. “Yeah, allow me to introduce, this is Madam Zhou Meng, her family runs a seafood business. She has subdued her husband to the extent that he does her bidding.”
‘He’s just a live-in husband, isn’t he?’ Yan Jinyi secretly thought to herself.
“Hello, Madam Zhou.”
‘You’re being too polite, Second Young Mistress Huo. It’s my blessing to meet you!”
Yan Jinyi smiled.
Yang Qing began to introduce her to another woman. “Second Young Mistress Huo, this is Madam Yan, the boss of Chuang Yi Enterprise. She lives abroad all year round and has only recently returned to China.”
