Little Miss Devil: The President’s Mischievous Wife Chapter 72

Chapter 72

Thankfully it was almost weekend but Lu Xinyi noticed that her husband was unusually busy lately. He would wait for phone calls and would try to distance himself everytime he received one. Not that she suspected that he was cheating on her when he couldn’t keep his hands away from her lately.

It wasn’t that much of a big deal anyway. Ever since the confrontation thing last Monday, Shen Yi made a point to give her a call whenever he was out to check on her. She hadn’t left their home and only accepted Xiao Lan’s company lately much to Shen Yi’s chagrin. Something about losing his treasures from his brother and Xiao Lan.

The hot season was almost over and she couldn’t wait to see the latest trends in the culinary world. Speaking of culinary, she wasn’t sure what Shen Yi did to her application at Silver Leaf Academy. She was staring down at a large envelope in her hand, unsure if she should open it or not. The envelope had an insignia from Silver Leaf Academy.

It had been sitting at the table in the entryway when she went downstairs while her husband was still asleep in their bedroom. Madam Jin might have left it there since she wasn’t around.

Without wasting another moment, Lu Xinyi had snatched the mail from the tabletop and taken off, reaching the stairs in a few moments before running back to their room. She silently closed the door behind her and took slow deep breaths to her herself under control.

It was only her and Shen Yi was aware of her plans going to Silver Leaf. The school that her father attended many years ago but failed to complete his degree. Silver Leaf Academy was one of the most prestigious culinary schools within the country and she yearned to attend the same degree her father took before.

She wanted to be a chef like him. A chef that could bring a smile to everyone tasting dishes that could leave a lasting impact on anyone. Sure, Lu Xinyi could follow her father’s footsteps but she knew that it wouldn’t be easy. She wanted to learn about the craft. It’s all about the craft.

But she knew she needed to get into the Academy that would help her along the path she had decided to choose.

Lu Xinyi clutched the envelope tighter in her hand, afraid to open it. What if she really didn’t get a confirmation letter for the examination? Meng Jiao had sabotaged her application before. While she knew all of these had happened because of her husband, Shen Yi can’t force the Academy to let her in without her passing the exams.

What if she didn’t get it? How should she face her own husband? Would he get disappointed on her? Besides, she didn’t want to tarnish Shen Yi’s reputation. He’d helped her so she better do her best if the Academy gives a chance. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ

What if she DID get in? Silver Leaf Academy was far from their home and she might need to stay in one of the school’s dormitory while completing her degree. She supposed it will take her two years to complete it but what about their marriage?

Sighing to herself, Lu Xinyi moved away from the door and sat on her side of the bed. Her trembling fingers ran over the envelope, almost like a caress from a lover. She just needed to open it. What was she afraid of? She could just rip it open and get over it if she failed to get a slot for the entrance exam.

“Okay. Just open it.” Lu Xinyi told herself and without further ado ripped the envelope open. Pulling a tick folded paper from within, she closed her eyes for a moment before unfolding the paper in her hands and read the contents.

When she was done, her eyes read the words written on the paper a few more times before it sank to her mind.

She got an exclusive slot for the entrance exams for Silver Leaf Academy. These exclusive slots were only given to those with individuals who had a support or was sponsored by corporations and companies.

Lu Xinyi held the exam admission card on her hand. Her name was written on it as well as her sponsor. SY Holdings? She blinked. Lu Xinyi expected that the Shen Group will be the one sponsoring her studies.

Shouting in joy, Lu Xinyi jumped from her seat before tugging the blanket from her sleeping husband. Shen Yi groaned and sat up, running a hand on his messy hair and wondering what made his wife so happy and ecstatic early in the morning.

“You did it! You really did it for me!” She straddled her husband, and with both hands pulled her face for a deep kiss, showing him her gratification for his efforts.

Shen Yi stared at her for a few moments before realizing what happened. He smiled at her kiss. Ah, what a great way to surprise her wife. All of those long boring conversations he’d endured these past days were worth it seeing her smile brightly at him. He’ll do anything for his lovely wife.

“I know a better way how you can show your gratitude to me.” Shen Yi grinned before pinning her down beneath him. Lu Xinyi’s words were muffled by his demanding kiss but didn’t resist further.

“You’re not taking me to bed. Ever.” “Who said it had to be on the bed?” “What?!
