Little Miss Devil: The President’s Mischievous Wife Chapter 613

Chapter 613

Surprised was an understatement to describe what Shen Yi was feeling at the moment. After regaining his consciousness, he was reminded once again of the news his own mother bestowed upon him.

Xinxin was pregnant with his child. He was beyond ecstatic with the news!

Hard-to-explain happiness burst inside him, spreading throughout his body. He’d never feel this kind of happiness before. Not when he took over companies, not when he secured a deal… not as much as hearing Lu Xinyi say ‘I love you’ for the first time.

“Xinxin… is she really pregnant?” He abruptly grabbed Shen Xue’s arm painfully.

His brother endured the pain in his arm and nodded.”Yes, yes. Big Sis is pregnant. Isn’t this you’ve always wanted? Now, could you release me please so I can share the good news with Dad and Grammie?” Shen Xue shrugged his arm away from him and stepped out of the room.

It was only then Shen Yi noticed that his wife was nowhere to be found. When he woke up, Shen Xue was the only person inside the room aside from him.

“Xinxin?” He called out, hoping he hadn’t lost her again.

“Here,” Her voice responded to his call.

Shen Yi slipped out of the hospital bed previously vacated by his wife and walked towards the room where he heard her voice. He found her sitting on another bed with a slight blush on her cheeks, surrounded by his mother, Zhao Xi, and another lady doctor.

Lu Xinyi had already changed her clothes from the hospital gown to the new clothes her mother-in-law prepared for her. As if she had sensed a strong force coming her way, Lu Xinyi lifted her head up and smiled brightly once she saw him at the doorway.

“Hi, CEO Daddy! Are you looking for me?” She laughed.

Shen Yi strode towards her, ignoring the amusement of the other three women in the room. He wrapped his arms around his wife, leaving her confused with his sudden action.

“You’re really pregnant?” She heard him ask. Why was he so out of his character today?

Lu Xinyi glanced at his face in confusion and nodded.

“Mmh. I just found it today. Mom ran a few lab tests to me including a blood test. Thankfully, she hadn’t done an x-ray request when the result came up.”

Shen Yi felt his heartbeat spiked up once again from her affirmation of her pregnancy.

“Does this mean I’m going to be a father?” He asked blankly.

Lu Xinyi shook her head and grinned.

“No, you’re the mom! You’re going to house the baby on your tummy for months while I go work for the two of you.” She burst into laughter which earned a giggle from Zhao Xi. “Of course, CEO Shen. You’re going to be a father. Are you happy?”

“Hn. I understand now.” He smirked back as he nodded his head in acknowledgment though it hadn’t really sunk on him that he was going to be a father soon. Shen Yi leaned down and carried her up while Lu Xinyi instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.

“Are we allowed to go home now?” He asked his mother.

Zhang Jingwei waved a hand, giving them her permission to go.

“Sure. Just be extra careful now. If I hear that you bully my Xinxin and not take care of her properly, I will take her away from your house.” She said before her son took away Lu Xinyi from her care.

“Mother, who’s your real child here? Is it me, or is it Xinxin? You worry too much!” Her son scoffed before leaving with his wife.

Shen Yi carried his wife out of the hospital, ignoring how people quickly took their phones to snap a photo of them being together. As they arrived at the parking lot where his car was waiting with Qiao He, he opened the door to the backseat and let Lu Xinyi settle inside first. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ

Lu Xinyi was in the tenth week of her pregnancy; therefore, there weren’t any noticeable changes in her body yet. However, Shen Yi was already panicking on her situation.

“Xinxin, are you comfortable?”

“Are you hungry? Should we stop somewhere to get something to eat?”

“Xinxin, if you don’t feel alright, you tell me, okay? I’ll bring you back to the hospital.”

Lu Xinyi was so ready to pull her hair out from her head from all the questioning he was doing. She shot him a glare to shut him up. Halfway through their ride back home, she gave up and decided to ignore him.

“You say Mom is worrying so much, but look at you! If you’re so worried about me, maybe you can tell me where Zhang Qing and Jiao Jiao are.” She took a deep breath and crossed her arms on her chest before looking away from her husband.

When he finally sensed that she was ignoring him, her face hinted with annoyance; Shen Yi stopped bothering her with questions and turned to his assistant who was grinning like an idiot at the driver’s seat.

“Take us to Metro Hospital,” Shen Yi told him before watching his wife intently. He remained unperturbed by her annoyance and still looked over her, not wanting her out of his sight. Lu Xinyi pinched the bridge of her nose and hissed when he took her hand and held it with his.

With that, they headed towards Metro Hospital where Jiao Jiao and Zhang Qing were taken after Feng Qianyu took Lu Xinyi. There, they found Zhang Sheng and Fu Rui outside the operating room. They were both shocked when they saw Lu Xinyi running along the hallway towards them.

“Xinxin, stop running!” Shen Yi was helpless that she wouldn’t listen to him. Was she forgetting she’s now pregnant?

“Miss!” Zhang Sheng exclaimed and stood abruptly.

“How are they?” Lu Xinyi looked at him then at the closed operating room.

“Jiao Jiao is out of danger now and has been transferred to the recovery room. My sister is still inside.” The young boy lowered his head, suppressing the tears that welled up in his eyes.

Lu Xinyi was filled with regret and guilt upon seeing him like this. She stepped forward and hugged the boy, letting him cry.

“I’m sorry, Zhang Sheng. Your sister was hurt again because of me.”

This was the second time Zhang Qing’s life was put in danger because of her.

At that moment, Fu Rui fell on his knees in front of Lu Xinyi, surprising her. Shen Yi looked over her shoulder and glared at him.

“Fu Rui?!” Lu Xinyi released the boy to look at him.

“Miss, we’ve failed to protect you. We’ll accept any punishment you deemed worthy for us.” Fu Rui said, his hoarse voice complementing his trembling form.

“Indeed, you all failed her this time.” Shen Yi was definitely disappointed with his wife’s bodyguards. Lu Xinyi had high expectations with them and had failed her the moment she was in danger.

Just remembering what transpired during his absence, Shen Yi couldn’t help but get angered at them. What mercenaries? If Li Yuren hadn’t managed to catch up with Zou Yin, he would be too late to save his wife and unborn child.

Lu Xinyi gasped at her husband’s brash comments. Although he was telling the truth, no one wanted it to happen.

“Shen Yi!” She was about to argue, but Shen Yi’s disposition over the matter couldn’t be overlooked.

“You and your brother. Go back to the Shen Mansion and receive your disciplinary actions the Shen’s way.”

“As you wish, Boss Yi.” Fu Rui accepted Shen Yi’s punishment willingly.
